Nice old school butcher shopThey still have freezer packs and cut meat to orderThe beef rib roast we picked up looks awesome as well as a beef filetPrices are reasonable, they don't give stuff away but the working class can afford to shop hereParking when busy is a challenge, but well worth a stop

I couldn't have enjoyed my visit to this local market more. I do wish the origin of the meat was labeled but besides that it was a wonderful experience. The butchers were friendly, helpful and engaging. I bought beef short ribs that are beautiful and were reasonably priced. While there I asked about bulk chickens and left with 8 whole chickens at a wonderful price while supporting a small local business. I had to wait a bit for the bulk order and enjoyed a soda water at their tables while watching the variety of customers come in. It really feels like a local market and I plan to go back whenever I need meat outside of my meat shares. Also I picked up a lovely slice of pork belly!

This is the only place I go for my local meats and deli to stock the fridgeThe staff is always kind and helpful which makes it even more reason to stop into a local shop

Love the quality. Love the prices (I mean they aren't bad!). Love the butchers. I've been coming here since I was little with my momma. Always will.

1 local business owner to the next I hate leaving a poor review. My customer meat was not cut to the very detailed specs I gave on my Antelope. Not even close per instructions. Just poor business

Very hard to work with when there is a problem with their product. Disappointing they don't stand behind their products that are less than acceptable.

Fantastic!The best butcher we have ever patronized, excellent quality natural products.We also really like the employees, they are excellent, they help us with all our needs, are very friendly and help us get what we want.This is not supermarket meat, this is his quality so it costs a little bit more.We accidentally went just before Christmas without realizing that there would be a holiday rush, so we walked in and although there were plenty of customers there they were happy to take care of us, they did a great job, got us exactly what we wanted quickly (much faster than at supermarkets), we are very impressed.Of course if you want something special for the holiday then we strongly recommend that you place your order a few days in advance, then give whoever you send to pick up your order your name and Order Number and you can get in and out in a flash, I was pleasantly surprised at hoe quickly they got the preorders out the door.Highly recommended.

I have only visited this location a handful of times and the experience has always been good. However, this past Saturday, I went in to order one of the package deals they have for a bulk portion of different meats. I was told to come back at 5:30 to pick up only to find the location closed at 5. Why were we told to come back after hours? We had put this order in to cover a big family get together later that night and would have found another resource if we were told that they could not prep the order in time. And why did the employee tell us to come back after hours knowing the store closed at 5? Very disappointed and will be sharing this experience on other social media outlets.

Called an hour ahead of coming into the store and was assured by the woman that answered the phone that there was plenty of tri tip, she even chuckled as if that was a stupid question. I arrive at the store and am now told there is no tri tip. The young man behind the counter also snarky and brash with the tongue. How far the experience has fallen at Rio Rancho Meats. 30 years going to this place and the last few times have been just a terrible experience. You win, I won't be back ever again.
