I stopped in on a whim and BOY was I delighted. The staff was just as friendly as they come. I had a lovely visit. I enjoyed learning about all their hand made turquoise and silver jewelry as well as the hand made pottery. They talked about some of the Native American events you can go see as well as other points of interest around town. Though I live here, they had plenty to share that I didn't know about.I was shown the antique jewelry that was on sale as well. I couldn't believe what beautiful pieces they had. I will certainly go there the next time I need a gift for the friend who has everything. I will also be taking everyone who comes through to visit. I loved their shelf of colorful brochures with all kinds of ideas for adventures, laid out in full color.Rio Grand Trading was a real treat, even for a local. I will be more than happy to support this establishment for years to come.

Vanessa was the most patient and helpful person while I was visiting and looking for a gift for my mother. I was there for almost 2 hours looking around at all the beautiful jewelry they had and she was so nice and knowledgeable about the different craftsmanship and type of stones. I really appreciated the help and felt very welcomed! Will come back next time I'm around!

Someone in a shoe store told me this place had drums for sale. Normally, I kind of wander into places like this, then wander out. I do collect keychains, but I can buy them for cheap alot of places. But someone told me this place near "Wendy's in Old Town" had drums. In fact, everyone I've talked to said, "Go to Old Town, and buy your drum." I've been wanting one for about 3 years. I walked in, and the prices ARE NOT wholesale. It is more Up scale, like, more than Macy's, on the clothes. And the clothes are pretty, but you pay a pretty price. So, go back into the store a bit. Ask a few questions. Ask a few more.I don't believe the drums were actually on sale. But, somehow, I got one for half price. It fits in my carry on, and has a nice tone. It was affordable, and cool cause I bought it down here. But there's other things too. Beautiful pottery. I bet they have the Story teller figurines. I imagine when you ask about something, it might be on sale. But maybe not. I'll not go back in there, the prices were more like Santa Fe boutiques. I did notice a very good price on baskets. I think those are made in this general area as well. I didn't ask who made the drum, but did look long for no "Made in China" stamp. There's not a stamp. it's handmade around here. I like this tore, but I don't get the Wholesale part of it. Heck, they sold me an affordable drum. And practically gave me a mallet.

I'm from Canada and I've never felt so harassed and uncomfortable while trying to browse. I ended up finding a small owl figurine that I wanted to purchase and it clearly stated on the bottom that the price was $12.90. The employees tried to hustle me into paying $1,290 for this tiny little figurine. :O I don't recommend going to this shop. Though they sell beautiful things, prepare to be hustled.

Wide selection of merchandise. This could be considered overwhelming if you don't have a specific item in mind. The prices on jewelry seem fair value. Sales rep Shane was helpful sharing the origin of stones and artist. He is also artistic and comes from a family of local Dine heritage.

Had a great time in the store today! I think I spent nearly 2 hours, and the entire staff that assisted me was very patient and knowledgeable. I wasnt exactly sure of the price range of the items in the store, but they had a wide variety of pottery/jewelry/woven goods for you to pick from regardless of budget.I apologize to the staff member who's name I forgot, but she was simply amazing. Every possible question I could ask, she had an answer to. I took home three beautiful pottery pieces of different styles and couldn't be happier.BOTTOM LINE: All items are authentic (hand made, or ceramic based), and sourced from local artists.
