Rio Grande Grooming Salon

I took my last dog there and it great. She was a wire hair terrier and her groomer was Susan. Susan retired and my dog died. I have another dog now and we go there too. She's always happy to go in. She's happy to go in and she's never had a cut or wound. These days they are short on groomers. We still go there every 4 weeks. I'd recommend it, but they are not taking any new customers at this time. However, if you are a dog groomer, are you know a dog groomer they might like to hire you..

I am a regular customer because they always take great care of my pups! I appreciate the reminder call I receive the day before an appointment. Several times they have noticed potential health issues and brought them to my attention. My dogs are happy, healthy, and always look good. Plus, the folks there are fun to chat with. What more could you want?

If you love your dog, don't go to this groomer! Not sure what happened to this place, but COVID is no longer an excuse for doing a bad job or injuring an animal. Our dogs were groomed recently and they looked awful. One of them wasn't brushed out. The others were shaved down and done so sloppy and lazily. One of the dogs must have been dropped because he appeared to be in pain when we brought him home and was even less active and moaning in the morning. To make it worse, the price has gone up considerably. WE WILL NEVER RETURN!

As good as it gets for dog grooming.Great service. Great grooming.This is the place to get fido done up right.We have been taking our Bichon Frise here for many years and have never been disappointed.Highly recommended.

The folks at Rio Grande Groomers are just so kind and nice. My dogs always come home waging tails looking fresh.

The Rio Grande Grooming salon is absolutely the best. I've been taking my dogs there for almost 15 years and they always do wonderful work.

I take my Shih Poo regularly and she always looks perfect. The ladies who run the salon are so kind and gentle. We quit going to Petsmart because the grooming was terrible, uneven and they kept her in a cage for hours and hours. We will only use Rio Grande Grooming for our babies from now on.

Absolutely terrifying~! Our passive and friendly poodle mix has enjoyed his frequent visits with a variety of groomers for years...but on his first visit here he was SO mistreated -- we actually ended up at the Veterinarian! The vet found two cuts by his eye, a cut on his chest, his leg, his tail, and trauma to his ears. His groin area has been burned, and he is still in pain -- 3 days later. We are LIVID! They had the audacity to charge us $10 extra for him being a "problem dog"....but Wally has NEVER had an issue with any other groomer, here or in Portland OR, where we moved from. When I called to find out what happened, the dismissive and disinterested groomer reported that he vomited and was shaking in terror. Again, not normal behavior for a dog who regularly gets groomed. We just bought a home near this place and wanted to love it. But good lord! I don't know what's worse -- that our dog was injured...or that they literally couldn't be less concerned. Seems to me, these guys might mistreat dogs to the point of upsetting them, then they get to charge the extra money? Not only can I not recommend, I want a refund. Why is my dog now on antibiotics to recover from WOUNDS he got during grooming? Its beyond unethical. And made worse by the total lack of accountability or compassion they seem to have. #BEWARE.

We had a appointment since October 2021 got canceled and was told not they couldn't get them in until January just called to check was told not till May 2022. My dogs look like they are being missed treated. I've been with them since 2010 never had a problem until now. The worse they have treated us. Now Ive got to find somewhere else i work 5 10hr shifts and on call on Saturdays.

My dog is a golden retriever and is frequent to grooming salons. We have been to many different salons and he is very easy going. However, I have never been to a worse Grooming Salon than this one. I called a day before and was excited to hear they had an appointment the next day. Upon arriving they had lost his appointment and had scheduled him with many dogs. They said they had time for him so I left him. I dropped him off at 8:30am. At 1:00pm I called to check on him, and they hadn't even given him a bath yet. He was not done until 3:30pm and they showed no regret at all. My dog had been kenneled for hours! They were rude and unorganized, my normally easy going dog was trembling. It was the WORST experience I have ever had.
