Renaissance Fine Framing

Purchased one of a kind print in Taos that we wanted to frame. In looking for a local framing shop, we came across Renaissance fine framing. We wanted to use a local business who would care for our piece of art as well as make recommendations for mats and frames. We had a great experience and will be definitely back. We are very happy with how our project turned out. Thanks for your recommendations on how to best enhance the art as well to as how to hang safely. Highly recommend this business. As an aside,They also do bike repair and since the local shop we have used in the past has closed, we also found a new bike shop.

It's nice to have a frame shop nearby in the center of the city and you can get anything done. Let you choose.

I stopped in to see if an old frame of sentimental value could be saved. Andy, the owner, stopped what he was working on to fix it up for me- including new glass- while I waited. And then did not charge me! I had a chance to check out the extensive framing options in the store. Beautiful samples. And I got to hang out with Dash- the real boss of the store- a big, old friendly boxer mix who comes out to greet the customers. Good service.

I had two antique prints my father got from the artist in the 1950s. The paper had oxidized and the mats were stained. I didn't even realize the glass was affected until Andy took them out of their frames. We did something unorthodox with matting and framing, I think he was skeptical about it but ended up humoring me. They turned out absolutely beautiful and I couldn't be happier. The prints look amazing and Andy's expertise was definitely appreciated. The cost to frame the 2 fairly large prints was so reasonable that I laughed out loud when he told me the price. I'm about to take him another group of prints and I'm looking forward to it. I saw a review that mentioned the barking dog and I wanted to address that. The dog does get excited and he does bark, but he calms down pretty quickly and gets quiet. It's certainly not enough of an issue to keep me from bringing lots more business to him.

Between the curt and unsympathetic customer service and the dog in the store barking loudly in my ear, I took my business to another frame shop, where I was considerately and pleasantly served.

An actual framing expert! Andy spent so much time consulting on a special panoramic frame job gone wrong at a box store. He gave me multiple options and was art & cost conscious. Awesome customer service with true expertise. Found my ABQ framer and a great dog friend.

I had an important family heirloom that had separated from the frame. It was complicated because it is a old 3d piece. It had a complicated set of strings holding each part of the image in place. They did a superior job of resetting the frame! It looks beautiful and sturdy. It will continue to be passed down and enjoyed by family. I highly recommend them.

I picked up my framing order today from Renaissance and I couldn't be happier. I worked in the picture framing industry for many years myself, so I generally know what I can expect.I had had a very good interaction while placing my order. Thomas took his time and we looked at a number of possibilities. I think I had set the bar too low and wound up raising my order up a couple of notches. In the end, instead of going with a cheap metal frame I had the poster that I wanted framed in a prefinished wood frame that really complimented the poster and help make the colors pop. The small antique photo is in a very traditional leafed frame and the mat board is perfect for the original board the photo is mounted on, and in combination the frame and the mat perfectly compliment the photo without overwhelming it.Picture framing is not a cheap undertaking, however I consider the amount I paid to have 2 pieces framed reasonable especially for the quality of the workmanship. I have more artwork I would like to have framed and I will be returning to Renaissance to have the work done.(And he is right, Nash is a great dog!)

I have had work framed in the Albuquerque area for nearly 30 years. Andy is one of the best framers I have had the pleasure of working with.He is knowledgeable, a superb craftsman and honest . He always offers options and lets me know of the cost of the options. He also has a sense of humor and is fun to work with. The variety of frames available at his shop are impressive but it his creative ability to combine frames and matting that is most impressive.
