Red Shovel Landscape

I've struggled whether to post this or not. I chose to so no one else experiences what I experienced and that RS can make improvements. It starts with the consultation when an employee came out to my house to see where we wanted trees and bushes placed. Two of the 4 trees were Japanese Maple trees. We had the trees and bushes planted on 6/22/23. That day was the start of 95+ degrees in our area for well over a month. I followed RS's instructions verbatim but the trees were not responding. I called about 30-40 days after they were planted and I was told that the JM trees do not do well in hot weather. Something the sales rep should have relayed to me when she was here at my house. I followed the instructions given to me but it wasn't helping. The next phone call, they said they would have one of their experts call me back to come out and look them over. I never received a call back and I had to call them after 2 weeks of no calls. They replaced one of the JM trees because it was dead. I continued the watering instructions throughout the fall and winter. By the end of spring, the other JM and the other 2 original trees were in rough shape. I call a couple times and yet couldn't get a call back. I finally called and said I wanted to get a quote on replacing the 3 sick trees. After 2 weeks I called back and the woman said someone emailed me with a quote(which never came). I finally called back and asked about having the trees removed w/o replacement. They said they could only cut it at the base and I would have to dig up the rest. Needless to say, I will no longer use their services. Terrible communication all around.

Asked to speak with the owner about changes in our service and as told by Gilbert that he wouldn't talk to me. A year of service and that's the treatment we get.

I requested a quote for irrigation work. Seth came out, was very pleasant and we discussed what I was looking for. He said I would get a quote by email in a day or two. It took several calls before I got the quote. I asked if someone could stop by so we can do a walk through to make sure I understood what all was involved in the quote. Seth came by and we walked through all the items. There were some that weren't needed so he said that he would email a revised quote. That was on June 12, 2024. Today is June 27, 2024 and I still don't have my revised quote and I don't get any responses to repeated requests for the revised quote. I liked what they had to say but if they can't respond to a simple text how can I expect them to do any work. I would give no stars if it was possible.

I contacted Red Shovel for help with our yard. We have a 1/4 acre city lot here in the heights of burque. Due to our circumstances the yard got away from us and we had a front to back category 5 mess. From the first call to signing the bill at the end of the day these folks have been and are professional, attentive, and just plain easy to communicate with. I was able to get an appointment within a few weeks. Not bad for busy leaf / holiday clean up season. I received a reminder 2 days before and a call from the estimator/crew foreman the day before to confirm the appointment. Anfernie called about 10 min out the morning of to give a heads up. I was able to put the dogs away and open the gate. Anfernie arrived on time and ready to work. We walked the property with Anfernie listening intently to everything I said and was effortless in getting everything arranged and considered for what I wanted done. He quickly gave me an estimate for everything and I was surprised by how fair and easy to understand it was. At this point I gave the green light. This was at about 8:30. Within minutes there were 3 trucks and a handful of people getting to work. I was very impressed with this. We all have hired those two guys who work their tails off but take 3 days longer and 25% more $ to get the job done. Red shovel could not be further from that situation. These folks show up in force and have a deep bench. They have modern equipment and the people skilled at running it. Nobody broke anything at all. None of my stuff went missing. These folks were all over our yard the whole day through doing all manner of yard work. Two small trees and 5+ big truckloads later everything that was agreed upon and even a few nice touches like weeding our beds was done. At some point there were 9 people on property going full bore. I don't think they hire anyone with a slow gait. Anfernie approached with the bill tablet and I braced for the bad news. To my surprise it was exactly what we agreed on. Everyone was professional, polite, attentive, and hardworking. What a breath of fresh air. I would recommend Red Shovel to friends and family. I plan to continue reimagining our yard with them. Thank you Red Shovel for a job well done. The value of their work in my opinion is outstanding.

I get billed almost $570 a month for turf care. It is evident after 1.5 years that Red Shovel treatment does not address crab grass. I can't get a hold of them to discuss over the email and the voice mail is full- so can't leave a message.

The crew of David M. and Leo did a fantastic joby at cleaning up some yard debree and wood that needed removal. This is the 2nd time we have had Red Shovel come out. Both times a clean and neat job. Diana and Tom

Massive rip off - management response well you signed on the deal so no recourse, no standing by their work provided pictures of substandard work. Just buy your own tools do it yourself. they get your payment form up front so they have you by the $$$ balls

I requested an estimate for landscaping services. Red shovel advised that they would not show up for a free estimate unless I had a credit card on file. I asked several times for clarification and was told it was their policy. I would not recommend doing business with anyone who wants access to your money before preforming services!!!

David M., Leo and Marshall did an outstanding job with my trimming and yard clean-up. Professional, efficient and things look spotless. Couldn't have asked for better

This is definitely one of the worst rated companies on yelp, surprised they are still in business with there terrible customer service
