Another winter workout at Quail Run - the only club in town where we do our cardio and get heated up and then we have to walk OUTSIDE IN THE FREEZING COLD to get to the weight room!!! Insanity! No worries - a brand new club is coming to town. Have you heard?

We visited a number of fitness facilities and pools before settling in on Quail Run. This place is fantastic in terms of clean, well-equipped facilities, professional trainers, nicely appointed locker facilities, and great line-up of classes. I've taken an assortment of their spin, yoga and circuit training classes. While small enough to get the personal feedback and correction I need, the fitness center is large enough to have all of the top-of-the-line Cybex fitness equipment, spin bikes, pool facilities and even massage studios I need. Conveniently located, Quail Run has a great restaurant, tennis courts and golf pro shop, too. This facility is truly a hidden gym that must be considered by any serious athlete.

I joined for a few months and then quit. I'm 36 years years old and realized that this club is built for octogenerians and actively alienates patrons who are less than 45 years old. My main complaints include the following: 1. One of the trainers approached me at the gym (an Italian woman with large glasses) and demanded that I put my phone away when I was changing a playlist on Spotify. I was neither talking nor texting. I brought this up with the membership director and I requested a follow-up after the trainer had been spoken to. I never received a follow-up. 2. The steam room is hazardous--the only way to turn it off is manually through the outside button. I brought this up as a huge hazard with the staff and they shrugged and said it 3. The towel drop is located inconveniently outside of the lockerroom because "there is no male staff available." There is also a sign that states that we are not allowed to put dirty towels on the ground. So basically, if one were to go to the steam room and use a towel, it's expected to get dressed again just to put the towel outside and then undress and go back to the shower and get a new towel. 4. The restaurant is only open a few hours a day. Most athletic clubs I've been to will usually have a cafe or some part of the restaurant open for gym-goers.

This place used to be much better. I think they are having budget problems. They re-did the pool (finally) and didn't do the two spas, apparently because of the cost. The gym is so warm that people end their workouts early. Today the two spas were dirty and the pool looked as thought it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Suggestion box doesn't result in follow-up.
