This is a great space to go on a nice hike, it's nice that you can bring your pets as well. The art is beautiful and nice to see something different. Can't wait to see all other open space trails.

This was a great place to go hiking. The trails are nice and clear. There are always lots of people hiking. The foliage is beautiful and love the quiet.

We really just stopped to see the chainsaw Art. We probably would have done a walk if the winds weren't crazy on the day we went. The chainsaw art was a quick stop off and it's located right in the parking lot. If it's windy, I'd avoid coming here, lots of dust blowing around and very little protection from it. The art is pretty cool and fun to see. If you are nearby, it's kinda a fun and quick stop.

Now's the time to find this little urban oasis because -- you hear that? Yep, the sandhill cranes are back. There's a healthy parking lot here, if you enter headed east on Montano, but be warned that during this unique era of pandemic weekends, the lot fills up quickly and you will be ticketed if you park on the street. The open space is bike friendly, but make sure you have thick tires and sealant, #thegoatheadsabide. Spend a few minutes appreciating the chainsaw artwork forged by a firefighter who helped quelch a massive fire early in the century, and then take off headed south. You can follow the drainage trail which is wide and partially shaded, but here's our go-to: take the foot trail just east, by Bosque School. If you keep heading south you'll come to an area we affectionately call New Zealand. Why? Well, the wife, she's a true New Mexican and the first time she entered this comparatively lush, wild cottonwood grove she was like, "Oh wow, this looks like Lord of the Rings!" which, of course, it doesn't come close to resembling but, you know, for a local, getting lost in a swath of green is damn near impossible around here. So New Zealand it is. Go get you some trees.

Started my walk/hike of the Bosque Trail at the Montano Open Space entrance.Lovely and well-maintained. You can get close to the Rio Grande, enjoy the scenery and the sculpture garden. A nice place to run or walk and enjoy the outdoors a bit.

One of my favorite places to clear my head. I love to go walk, run, jog, and just enjoy the fresh air here! There are multiple trails to choose from so it's easy to chose a different one each time. I like to go back by the Rio Grande and watch the geese and take in the view of the mountains. I usually take a right beside the bridge, but left is amusing too! Easy access to bike trails on pavement, as well.Plus, if you park here, the Flying Star on Rio Grande is only about a mile away. Great place to walk on a Saturday morning for brunch.

A touching and remarkable tribute to the wildlife that perished in a 250 acre fire in Pueblo Montaño Open Space in New Mexico. With no artistic training, fireman Mark Chavez used a chainsaw to carve creatures from the dead cottonwood trees and bring both plant and animals to life.

Wonderfully peaceful walk through forests and along the Rio Grande. Starts at a reasonably sized parking lot and leads past the carved wood art garden. One of my favorite places in Albuquerque.
