I have been a customer here for years, starting with buying half of a pig I shared with a friend. Since then this little treasure is a place I stop at whenever possible. I specifically like buying flour from Valencia County but also have picked up one off pork chops, they have a wonderful meat selection, and yogurt from a local dairy. They also have a lot of other offerings like soaps and other hand crafted goods in addition to local produce. I love supporting them and hope others do too!

Anyone else longing for days gone by when life was much simpler? Less florescent lights and big box stores offering mass produced meats and products, more small businesses offering locally raised meats and garden grown produce from a backyard nearby...what a thrill to find Polk's Folly Farm, a butcher who's honed his craft and provides that intimate customer service experience...this is exactly the kind of business I want to connect with and support and see thrive. So many delightful local goodies, cheeses, jams, honey, fruits and veggies, breads, spreads and even more...I picked up some ground lamb and shaved lamb for gyros, but couldn't resist walking away with some local plums, pears, tomatoes, carrots, celery, string beans, greens, eggs, pesto, butter...my patronage belongs here!

Great EM local butcher shop and grocery with fresh, locally sourced meat, dairy, bread and artisan crafts. Very friendly and down to earth service. We purchased several items today on our first visit and were not dissapointed. The prices are very good. Made burritos with the green chili ground beef. The flavor and quality was exceptional. We couldn't be more pleased and will continue to be customers. No more trips to the city for meat! Thank you for a great experience.

What a find! Haven't been in the area for years, so glad I was able to stop in this market. Not packed with unnecessary stuff but has plenty to choose from. Not able to stay in area for too long so only picked up some produce and the delicious Christmas sausage links, great flavor. Now I know where to go for produce, meats and other local delicawhen I come back!!

This place is a diamond in the rough! I've lived in the mountains for almost 2 years and have wanted to stop in this place every time I pass on Hwy 14. Today Finally became that day. I'm not extremely familiar with their hours year round. Rather, I was overcome by the vast variety and network of meats, dairy, eggs, flour, kimchi's, produce grown locally, and honey. The Polk family took some time to go over all that is sold through their store (locally produced) which I thought was above and beyond. They explained that they choose very carefully their suppliers. They must meet certain standards in order to sell through their store. I bought 2 steaks, green chili cheese curds, and some cucumber kimchi. I came home and couldn't wait to try that cucumber kimchi......ohhhhh, so good. Well seasoned and spicy. I shook it up to mix it. Popped that bad boy open and it fermentation bubbled up. They also told me as I left that they stand behind the products they sell. Cannot wait to try the rest of my goods.

Sitting in the shade of old trees along NM 14, I discovered this jewel of a farm store. As I entered, I felt I just stepped into another dimension the the universe. There was something magic in the air and honey on the shelves. Blue cornmeal flour and fresh eggs were winking at me to take them home. Just when I thought I met the perfect chicken, the bacon stepped in and introduced himself. Polite, chubby cheeks.... Gluten free desserts, someone said. Tough choice so I got one of each. Fresh salads, kombucha and Tucumcari cheese were very chatty and had a good point in conversation, or do I thought. The staff.... Oh, these guys were more than welcoming, smiling, friendly.... I just wanted to hug them all. Do, if you're in the area, stop by. Plan a day trip and visit them. You will not be disappointed.

Bought some green chili beef sausage from these great folks at the farmer's market in Cedar Crest. Man, that stuff was awesome. Really pleasant chat with the guy, too. Do it if you get a chance.
