A friend and I met for poke at Poke Serrano today. The long drive with early rush-hour traffic was well worth the trip.Their poke is exactly as you would hope it to be. They have all the standard ingredients you would expect, and everything is fresh.I ordered the regular-sized BYOB with half ahi tuna and half shrimp. Although the regular size is their smallest bowl, it seemed bigger. I couldn't finish it. I wanted to.I was impressed that they don't add mayonnaise to their crab. Perhaps it's because younger generations generally don't like mayo. It sure is a lot healthier. So, I added that topping.Their menu is endless. They offer taco bowls like chimichurri steak and carnitas, as well as regular tacos. They also have Tuna Wonton Nachos, which I'd like to try sometime. Udon, ramen, and some Chinese favorites, crab rangoon and egg rolls, are on the menu. For dessert, they offer macarons, cake, and pie, and try one of their many bubble teas. The restaurant feels big, even with a nice-sized bar. It is located in the old Flying Squirrel.

First poke spot in Rio Rancho and it does not disappoint! It's the same owner as poki poki on central in Nob hill, tamashi and sushi king! I ordered the steak bowl which was delicious. Steak was tender and flavorful and the rice was amazing! It's a little spicy so ask for less heat if you can't handle it!Ordered southwest egg rolls, vegetable egg rolls and gyozas. All tasted phenomenal! They have a cool bar area with unique drinks, can't wait to come back. This will definitely be my new hangout spot.

We had the tonkatsu ramen, make-your-own poke bowl, and aloha ice tea. $35.When you enter the restaurant you are hit with a pretty strong odor that smells something like sewage so we were a like worried about our order. But, we put our fears aside and tasted the wares from this new Rio Rancho restaurant.Service was quick on the poke but slow on the ramen. We thought the flavors in both dishes were pretty good and met our anticipations. They were above average for mainland restaurants. The main problem was with the ramen. All of the ingredients were in their own sections and the noodles were in a large clump. If they would have stirred it a little it would have been much better. The spoon was a regular dinner spoon which kept falling in the bowl. Over all the ramen was a lot of work.Hopefully they can fix some of the shortcomings as it's nice to have a poke/ramen restaurant in town. We would give 3.5 if possible but it's a 3 for now.

It was my first time here. I didn't get any store front photos, because it was in the evening when I visited. There is a private lot and it looks like it can get full very quickly. I have been waiting patiently for this restaurant to open. And I am so glad that it finally did. They have other locations around Albuquerque, off Wyoming and Central. I am just happy that they finally opened one here closer to where I live. This place is pretty open and spacious, we were greeted by friendly staff and the menu offers the same items as the other Poki Cevicheria locations. Seafood bowls, tacos (their fish tacos are pretty delicious, steak, chicken and carnitas) and ramen as well. They have a full bar which offers some good libations. Got to try a couple of drinks. We ordered a Boss bowl and a Make-Your-Own bowl. We sat at the bar and got some drinks from the bar too. Service was good and they even told us about their menu and what they offer. Have to honestly say that the Boss bowl has been my favorite since the first time I ever had the Boss bowl at a Yelp Elite event back when Poki Poki first opened. There is also a Sweet Cup located right inside the restaurant that is next door. This little dessert eatery offers; boba drinks, hot or iced teas and coffees and delectable desserts including their scrumptious macarons. Which are very tasty. Some places offer macarons that are too sweet, but these are just right in my opinion. Overall, we had a great experience here. I hope to be visiting this place a lot more often now that I know that they are open. Thank you for good service.

We've been waiting for this to open since the previous 1933 restaurant/business turned out to be a COVID casualty. The thing that struck my wife and myself is the food at Poke Serrano is delicious! It was fun having an Asian and Latin fusion! Very creative dishes. I definitely intend to return to try more dishes, which are outside my usual fare. The staff are very friendly and helpful!! They explained the different dishes, what each meant. I needed that explanation, so I REALLY appreciated it!!In one respect we were surprised by the atmosphere of Poke Serrano. It wasn't quite what we expected. For example, you make your selection, and pay for it (including TIP) before you sit down. Kind of like Genghis Grill. There were several TVs tuned to various sporting events. Given the flooring, ceiling, and walls I would think it could get louder than someplace like LongHorn Steakhouse in Albuquerque. I'm not saying this is bad. It just wasn't what we expected. Just have this in mind, before you go. I'm sure that you'll have a good experience, if you're better mentally prepared than we were.

I came in on a Saturday late afternoon, parking lot implied it was a little busy which is a good sign. I decided to sit at the bar but had I chosen, I could have ordered at the register and had a seat. There are no servers. The bar is huge! Various beers on tap and a good drink menu. I had the guava mojito. Refreshing and good. Pics included. I ordered a chimi taco minus onions. That meat was fabulous! The salsa was flavorful and its presentation was nice. They have ceviche (not a fan) but imagine good for someone. Variety of tacos and bowls. Staff was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely try it again. Oh and the sweet spot next door is open too, part of them. They make their own self serve yogurt, boba teas, macaroons.Hope it sticks around Rio Rancho.

3 Stars with potential to be higher after another visit. We stopped in for dinner and it just opened not even 3 days ago. Our overall experience as a whole is 3 Stars as you can tell they're still getting their bearings together since it just opened. They had a fixture that looks like it was intended to stock possibly beverages that was completely empty. It took over 10 mins to get my ramen bowl after I paid for the meal (this does not include the time the order was placed). There were no soup spoons for the ramen, because they were still waiting for them to come in Waiting so long on the ramen, meant the Hawaiian bowl we ordered sat there in the meantime. That being said the Ramen was good in my opinion from what I've had in NM. I'm from the bay area and currently live in Phoenix and I come to Albuquerque often to visit my girlfriend. The poke in the Hawaiian bowl was good, my girlfriend liked it but something was a little off with the pineapple in it.Customer service was great, someone was always cleaning the tables and checking up to make sure everything was good, so complaints there.I give no passes because they just opened. My overall experience is 3 Stars. The food was good, customer service was great, the wait time for my ramen was a turn off, and the ambiance was doable as they weren't fully setup. I have no doubt that I will change my rating higher once they're up fully running and everyone there is in a good flow.If you said this was a soft open, then I would excuse some of the things. Come for the experience of a new restaurant in the area, but just know they're still working out the kinks.

I've been here multiple times since its grand opening, and although they had some initial hiccups (as any new restaurant would), I'd say they've made exceptional strides to remedy those by improving the overall atmosphere and provide the best unique cuisine available in Rio Rancho right now. I love the food at Poki Poki in the northeast heights so I generally knew what to expect from their menu. I did not, however, anticipate the addition of items like the fried rice, Tonkatsu ramen, and Yaki udon. The staff at Poke Serrano are so pleasant and informative. If you have any questions about the ordering process, food items, or the intriguing menu of specialty mixed drinks at the bar, you can expect to receive sincere assistance and descriptive responses. All in all, the Poke Serrano experience is of quality. If you're looking for a nice, wholesome lunch or dinner to take the family out to, definitely give this new kid on the block a try.Oh! And the local art on the walls are a great touch, too! ;)

As someone else commented below, when I walked in, my nose was accosted by the smell of sewage and I nearly turned around and left. I couldn't stand to eat in the place due to the smell, so I approached the counter. It wasn't labeled where to order and two groups in front of me were also confused. A simple sign would be helpful on where to order. The font size is so small on the board, that you can barely see it, so thankfully the have printed-out menus. I ordered the nachos and a bowl to give it a try. They ordered the wrong bags, so my to-go order came out in 3 or 4 tiny bags. The food was alright, the service could do with a little improvement, and well...the ambiance is lacking due to the smell. Previous tenants never had this stench, so please take some time to address it and not just cover it up with chemical scents.
