Our group of 20 stayed at the Immaculate Heart of Mary for a week and Pinon Catering is the default caterer for this venue. The venue was fabulous but many in the group were disappointed in the food. Presentation is 5 stars, variety and choices were good but everything was super spicy, lots of pepper in everything, and the ingredients were questionable since several in our party ended up with bad reactions to the food. They claim to use all organic and locally produced food but this is doubtful as the oils were questionable and unfortunately most of the foods bathed in oil. Personally, I had to stop eating the food because I was getting strong reactions to it so I ended up eating off the premises. If you're not too particular about your food and don't have food sensitivities, this company might work for you, they do put on a good food display.

We used Piñon Catering for our arts fundraising event and I thought it was remarkable. From the looks of many empty service platters and people going back for seconds, I was not the only one enjoying the spread. Each dish was labeled and there were many gluten free and vegetarian offerings. From fresh pesto spreads and kale chips to buffalo meatballs, it seemed like there was something for everyone. I hope we use them for our next event!

Kim, Lupe, Lily and all we love you! Kim and her amazing team just catered our wedding and in a family of fine cooks and foodies all we heard were RAVES! From the beginning we knew the most important thing for us was that the food taste sensational and boy did it ever. I was really detailed just going over menu options with Kim but from the first taste of our extravagant tasting we were blown away. Flavor is what they do! Our tasting was frankly extraordinary, (we could have fed a crowd) and things i thought were going to be after thoughts were amazing. The homemade breads are not to be missed, the most tender crumb and come on savory sweet potato brioche straight from the oven? What's not to love? The whole process was a ball, i arrived a week early to handle the many details and Kim would shoot me a text that they were pulling this or that from the oven and i should pop over. I was smart enough to do so! It was so fun to park my car and literally follow my nose towards those amazing sweet and savory scents wafting from the kitchen. They joy and love i felt between them as they prepped and cooked was half the fun. I felt like i was a part of the best family ever! And oh those treats!!!! I tasted our poached pears being poached for the our hors d'oeuvres of endive with blue cheese, poached pears and walnuts straight from the bubbling pot! Little pears plucked from their own trees just that morning. Delectable. And a berry tart (was it cranberry? I tasted so many delicious items i've forgotten) that was warm, tart and sweet with maybe a cornmeal batter? Fantastic! How lucky am I? Thank you Kim for the special invites. And I really can't say enough about our actual wedding day. The food, the food, the foooooood! From the passed hor d'oeuvres of jerk chicken on plantain hips with mango chutney - yummmy!!! Asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and phyllo And the wild mushroom toasts! Rich, deep and soul satisfying along with our endive and poached pears - everyone was already exclaiming it was the best wedding food they'd ever tasted! For dinner we served the salmon cooked to perfection. (So many fine restaurants over cook salmon until it's hard, i told Kim what i wanted and she nailed it). The colorado grass fed beef from our home state was succulent, juicy and the sauces were amazing, i'm still mouth watering over the demi glace...Even the salads, veggies and mashed potatoes were mouth watering (And I am crazy picky about veggies because we are a veggie loving family with many fine chefs among us and they were roasted to tasty perfection). Even Kim's presentation was truly gorgeous and that mattered to me too. From start to finish working with them all was a ball. Kim even offered to use recipes we sent for our cakes, improved upon them and added a few of her own. We had four cakes, and she used our recipes for the rhubarb filled with cardamom cream and rhubarb buttercream (she added homemade rhubarb jam to take it over the top, thank you so much!) was our absolute fav!! Our family recipe for gingerbread stout cake with chocolate ganache filling and cream cheese frosting - fantastic. (And that's saying a lot since it's already one we love and make ourselves). Then we requested a devils food chocolate with salted peanut butter frosting and omg did she deliver!! Kookoo delish. And i tossed off the idea of a coconut with toasted coconut because my man loves coconut and Kim created one that was fought over! When you have four cakes and not one slice is left at the end of your wedding you know you nailed it. NOT. ONE. SLICE! Every single dish was delectable and i am PICKY! (just ask kim :D). Thank you, thank you Piñon Catering for making our magical wedding absolute perfection! We're going to have to plan some other family event so we can do it all again!
