I cannot say enough good things about this company!Six years ago I moved into the Simms Building downtown. I was starting my business and apprehensive about the 30 page lease and dealing with a large company in general. I paid an attorney to review the lease and he said everything was on the up and up and so I took the leap.It was the best business decision I've ever made. Being in the Simms Building was like being part of a family. The Petersons hire the best staff. Over the six years there were two different building managers, and a couple of different maintenance managers and all were the most amazing people. Any problem, large or small, was addressed right away. Even problems that I probably should have been responsible for! The managers (currently Emma) and maintenance staff (currently Forest) have such an attitude of service, and of making the place run smoothly. They actually care about creating a positive environment. I never ran into the "not my problem" attitude that is so prevalent these days.Another thing that I really liked about Simms / Petersons is that they were constantly working on improving the property. It wasn't like they'd just bring something up to being barely workable or just meeting code. They were always going above and beyond to create a clean and upgraded environment, with thoughtful design, and a great visual aesthetic.I ultimately had to move to a different space to expand the business, but I already miss Simms so much! It was truly the best place to start and grow my business.

Horrible commercial rental company. I stayed for almost four years because it was inexpensive however BEWARE, you get what you pay for. The ceiling leaked into my office for years damaging my ceiling tiles, causing black mold over my kitchen/sink. I've had to throw away cups, towels, coffee, sponges, etc. due to this leak. Instead of repairing the roof, they tell me to replace the ceiling tiles at my own cost. Then it rains, the new ceiling tiles continue to leak, stain, bulge and sag, grow black mold and ruin items in my office. Not only is this a health code violation to myself and employees, but also to my clients. Not to mention horribly unsightly. This company has no values and are held to no decent business standards, as the rest of us small businesses strive to go above and beyond to help our community and fellow local business owners. Also the common shared areas in the building are filthy as I personally have to clean the glass doors, bathrooms and reception area. I have also been through 3 property managers in the last 3 years. I have paid for months of rent in advance, however after putting my foot down and demanding repairs, they evicted my company during our busiest season (tax) of the year. Shameless. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The residential management and recent transition of ownership at 3820 Central Ave SE known as the LOFTS is absolutely horrible, deplorable, and incompetent. Forget about the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. They're all thumbs. Elderly people, 70s and up, are being thrown out on the street with very short notice and without regard to their hardships, handicaps, and special needs. Some of these seniors assumed they would just pass-away there. The financial burden is significant, unplanned, and difficult to absorb. Choices between medicine, food, and new housing have to be made.Peterson changed internet access providers and randomly didn't tell residents leaving them without internet access to search for new homes. They outright refuse to change light bulbs for a senior resident with high ceilings. This is a very old property, cockroaches and bedbugs have existed here for years. Peterson is threatening residents to pay for expensive bedbug treatment. They terminated monthly pest control service. Don't be fooled or naive. Bedbug eggs are viable for one year. They are here with a vengeance. When this property opened many years ago, it was basically a half-way house for immigrants and they brought pests with them.Requests for weekend repairs are met with indifference stating, "we don't work weekends," yet the residents have to live with unrepaired issues during the weekend or longer. An email from Peterson was sent out in January to let the faucets run a small stream of water to help prevent freezing. Yet, a question asking who and how we contact someone in the event our pipes froze went unanswered.Do not be fooled. Peterson will make every promise, not on paper, to get you into a lease. The previous owner included cable TV, utilities, and internet access at a reasonable price. If you take into account the noise on Central due emergency vehicles, street people fighting or screaming at the wind, starting fires and other activity that the police won't respond to or the occasional rock through your car window, then this is the place for you.If you need maintenance, their response is a generic nonsensical response meant to insult your intelligence and avoid repairing anything. In other words, they treat you as if you are an idiot.All I can say is avoid Peterson and be skeptical of anyone who claims Peterson is someone you would want to rent from.

I'm a 70yr old about to be, on Juli 31, 2022, a homeless Disabled Army Vet. I'm half way into my possible full remission of colorectal cancer. I may have a potential head bleeding trauma to my, kinda sorta maybe, brain. In the boat of being given den Stiefel gegeben (given the boot). Seniors, disabled, alike are in mine crowed boat. They are forcing my honesty about my past to bite my arse concerning my future. So Doug Peterson doesn't care for honesty? An honest business ethics. I was always taught that to be honest NO MATTER WHAT IS THE MARK OF A REAL!!! MAN!!! PERSON!!! WHATEVER!!!

Stay away. These people are very condescending or being liars comes all too natural. They will do anything to jack up the rents. I was paying $625 for a studio that was almost 300 sq-ft. I had a refrigerator and stove. That was it. Utilities, TV, and internet access were included. Not a bad deal until you include the bed bugs (everyone had them at one time or another). Spraying just moved them from one room to another - whoever didn't get treatment. Then there were the street people. Someone (s) stole two mopeds from the rear fenced area. They just lifted the mopeds over the fence. There was one attempted suicide, five deaths, and an apartment was broken into nabbing several thousand dollars that a person on medicaid kept in the room, because you can't have more than $2k in your bank account. Central Ave is very noisey. That should be enough. Go ahead if you dare.
