Pennysmiths Paper

Paper stores. These have to be some of the most difficult retail spots, in modern times, to turn a decent profit. Somehow, for the better part of my life in this city, Pennysmith's has survived, and I'm really glad it's still around.And that probably has everything to do with the fact that Pennysmith's doesn't focus much on paper. I mean, they have everything I need for that special occasion or kewl framed image for the abode, but the reason I'm usually peeping this place is for the quirky gift-y goodies, you'll find 'em tucked in corners, generally around the perimeter. One of my favorite last-minute oh-this-is-perfect gift shops, Pennysmith's is well worth a look.

Found perfect perfect present fir a going away party present! Great price! Unique!! And a great card!! I will go back for more gift giving occasions!!

These are your local experts at stationary, pens, unique cards, and other interesting international oddities. I bought a Lamy Safari pen (best foundation pen ever) and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I dropped that same pen at work, without a cap resulting in the nib bending, I returned to this place and they switched the nib out for me. They also have workshops and events (upcoming pen event, for pen fans out there). Unique place and local experts, no other place in town comes even close.

The most amazing service!!! I came in 5 weeks before my wedding and the Pennysmith team got us invitations and printed envelopes in a week! Pretty much unheard of & I thought we might have to end up getting something cheap online. Nope! They came through in the clutch and we got our invitations out just in the nick of time. Thank you again so much!!!

Such a beautiful store with a lovely assortment of papers and pens. It is the type of store that is rarer and rare today--a place you want to stroll and look around and take a moment to savor. Friendly knowledgeable staff to help when you have questions.

Fun little shop of cards, gifts, and custom invitations.Need to buy someone a birthday card or gift, then check it out.Prices pretty high, but some stuff here is quite unique.Staff is somewhat stuck-up and not overly friendly. They definitely need to lighten up a bit.

Charming store and lots of fun to peruse. The employees are never pushy or lingering. The selection of cards and paper is lovely with plenty of entry level and upper level fountain pens to see!

Great little store. A bit expensive, but I enjoyed their decent selection of fountain pens.

I use to love going to this store growing up . But once I started ordering expensive cards the sales women got worse and worse . Always spelling my name wrong on my custom cards . If I'm going to pay $1600 for custom cards I expect crissi to remember me or even spell my name right . Or even some kindness . I'll take my business elsewhere where the sales people are actually decent and actually spell my name correctly .

You think you're in a high class, unique stationary shop and then you get to the birthday card section and suddenly you're in Spencer Gifts. The most disgusting and crude selection of birthday cards i have ever seen. I personally have no problem with nasty/crude cards but in a place like this? And that's the majority of your selection?I think they are struggling with identifying their customer base. Hint: We are well off traditionalists who like boutiques and beautiful things not found at department stores. We still like to send cards, hand write notes and buy beautiful, classy gifts for our friends. We are not "emo chic."
