Penguin ABQ

The manifold control system in my sprinkler system needed to be replaced as it had corroded over a 20+ year period. I called around and got a nest from another vendor for $800.00 just to diagnose the problem. They claimed they would apply that amount "if" I approved the total cost to repair, plus parts and additional labor. They hinted it could run as high as $3,000.00. Ouch!Penguin was responsive, honest, and cut me a break on the total cost regardless of parts and labor. In other words, it was a set cost for the entire job. The technician was outstanding! He made the repairs by himself. Total job time was about three hours. He replaced the entire manifold valve system, new pipes, valves, everything! Yeah I think I appreciated as he didn't tear apart my entire front yard to do the job. He knew exactly where to dig and to minimize any disruption or damage to my front yard or shrubs. In the end the job came out perfect! We tested the system a couple of times and it worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this company but be prepared for high costs as this type of work requires a lot of experience, labor, and of course parts. Two thumbs up!

Penguin ABQ was hired to replace grass killed by pre-emergent overspray, which kills down to the roots, so the topsoil had to be replaced as well.  They sent a foreman to measure and inspect the situation, after which they provided a quote within 24 hours.  They had me scheduled within 10 days, had to reschedule due to weather and arrived the next morning.  They were quick and meticulous about the dead grass and topsoil needing to be replaced.  They were quiet and cleaned up everything afterwards.  Although the fescue sod doesn't match my old Kentucky Bluegrass, it will eventually blend and look ok.  I look forward to calling them the next time I need any landscaping or irrigation work done.

No stars! Do not recommend! We waited weeks for Penguin ABQ to come out and turn on our sprinklers for the season. After waiting all day today they sent us an email at 2:30pm saying they were not coming. They didn't apologize, they didn't offer an alternative appointment, said they would let us know another date/time when they could figure it out. Unbelievable, we've been waiting for weeks and now we will have to wait additional weeks while all of our plants die. Unprofessional and very unreliable.

We have had Penguin ABQ out to our house twice to fix different irrigation leaks. The first time another company had told us we needed to replace all of our drip lines in the back yard, but couldn't come for weeks. We called Penguin ABQ and they came out the next day, inspected the lines, replaced two drip heads, and that was that. The second time they replaced two 20-year old lines that landscapers had sliced with shovels. Both visits cost about $100 a piece. I highly recommend Penguin ABQ's speedy, reliable, professional, and honest services.

We called this company to get help with our sprinkler system, they came and told us what the problem was without even looking at the system. Then the person said it was the manifold or something that was going to cost thousands of dollars. The person who came a) didn't seem to know what they were doing and b) seemed like they were trying to take advantage. They were supposed to send an estimate via email which we never recieved. Good thing because the other company came out fixed it on the spot and the cost was $100. Do not recommend.

There were some hiccups with the scheduling, but once they arrived Ike and his partner did an excellent job. I recommend Penguin to do the job (irrigation repair) and to do it right. I think they did a great job and were worth the wait and the cost.

This business is fantastic! I called around to get prices for drip system repair and for a stump removal and Penguin had the best price. The person who came to fix my system listened followed guidelines of wearing a mask. He listened to all of my concerns and was able to get everything that I wanted done. I was impressed at how quickly and how well done everything turned out. I look forward to doing business with this company again.
