Beautiful, peaceful mountain location. Rooms are nice, clean and updated, but cold and heat didn't work. You can definitely hear your neighbors, but it's a good place for a night's rest. The hotel front desk is friendly, and the restaurant isn't awful, with spotty quality of service, pretty basic food and bar. Overall, if you're coming out for an isolated escape, this is a very great spot, very much out of the way of anything!

Golfing at Pendaries is always a treat. Golfing in the mountains, seeing wildlife, great price for 18 holes and the restaurants has Frito Pies. All of these check the boxes for a wonderful day. The people are really nice and fun to talk to at the different holes throughout the community.

The restaurant at Pendaries Lodge has been hit and miss over the years. This year (2010) with a new manager it is excellent. Most people have never heard of Pendaries, and certainly not the restaurant, but if you can find it, it's worth the trip.

Ate the chicken fried steak and baked potato last week. I really liked the grilled vegetables and roll that were served along with the meal. It was delicious. They have one of the best fresh margaritas!

The rooms are pretty basic, no refrigerator or microwave. The color scheme is off-putting. Everything is painted a medium grey...The walls, ceiling, baseboard, doors and door frames. Just too dark and dismal. On the plus side, the room was clean and reasonably comfortable. We came for our anniversary only to find out that the restaurant isn't open on Wednesday nights. It did NOT say that on the website.

Pandaries restaurant re-opened on 5/21/16 boasting of a new chef. I attended with my toddler, husband, and some family friends. Let me tell you, this was one of the worst dining experiences ever! Firstly, they sat five of us at a 4 top even though all the larger tables were open. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer which took an hour to be brought to the table. The chips were store bought and obviously thrown into warm oil as they came out oily and over salted! When the food finally came out only 3 out of the 5 of us got our food. 2 were burger dinners (obviously a frozen patty) and it came with no sides at all! How do you serve a burger without a side! It was also listed as having a chipotle mayo on it but the "chef" came and gave us regular ketchup and mayo to put on the burger. My toddler son got spaghetti dish (and no, they do not have a kids menu). He ate it down with no issue. When I asked about my food, they said it would be out in a moment. After waiting another 30 minutes I decided I would eat whatever was left over of my son's spaghetti. It was so gross. The noodles were hard and stuck together. They had browned some ground beef with no seasoning what so ever, placed it on top of the noodles and added a crushed tomato sauce (it was not even a marinara!) over the beef. It would have tasted better if they used Prego or Ragu out of the jar! Unacceptable. The fifth person in our party ordered a cup of green chili stew (its NM after all) and it looked like and tasted like they put chilies in water and heated it up and nothing else, no meet, no other veggies. The tacos that she ordered with it never came out. The staff seemed clueless of what was going on. I think I got a refill on my water once. I have to say, I would question if this place hired an actual chef because he obviously does not know how to cook and is relying on frozen and pre-made ingredients that he is not tasting as they come out of the kitchen. When this was addressed to the chef, his excuse was he didn't have a dish washer. We were the second people to get to the restaurant on opening night. If you don't have clean dishes, what are you doing...

I love this restaurant. It has a great friendly atmosphere, a fantastic bar, and most important, wonderful food. In the past couple of years, I literally have not tried something on the menu that I did not fully enjoy. If you're in the Las Vegas area, I highly suggest a day of golf followed by dinner at Pendaries, especially if it's Thursday. Thursday night is pizza night, and they have the best pizza I've ever had outside Italy.
