The long lines are worth the wait. The kolsch was a light beer that was smooth and easy to drink. The beertender was very knowledgeable and helped me make the perfect selection. The ambiance is just mainly the food court but the bar is your typical bar, the service and quality of the beer is what made it all worth while. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to anyone.

Large beer selection in a neat public market. What's not to like? The beer is mostly local. There's outdoor seating too, though given how hot it was I was surprised to see folks out there.

Good variety! Good location. You can order and walk around with your drink. The server was super nice and helpful. Good portion for the price - paid $16 for 2.

Mind the TapTaproom located inside the hipstery Sawmill Market, which is the lone respite for tasty suds in this food-filled space. The name is a homage to the business, Paxton Lumber Company, that used to occupy this space for nearly fifty years before its current iteration. The Good:*±30 beers and ciders (#CiderisNotBeer) on tap of every color, type, and ABV one could possibly want. *Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable of what they had available. *Most of what they serve is locally or regionally produced*Indoor and dog-friendly outdoor dining availableThe Meh:*While they don't serve food, you certainly have almost the entire world at your fingertips inside the rest of the Sawmill Market. The Ugly:*Prices are 60% higher for a beer ($8 vs ±$5) than most restaurants in the areaTLDR: Great place to grab a brew to go along with your tasty bites, but be prepared to pay a little extra for the experience.

This is a wonderful pub with not much atmosphere but about 100 feet of local beers on tap! Susanne enjoyed Lime Lager and I stuck with my favorite Bosque Brewery's Scotia Scotch. Other places in the sawmill market have bottled alcohol but this is the only one with an assortment on top.

Super friendly staff. Bartender working on 3/31/21 at 2 pm with long beard was super honest! We left him a tip and there was a $20.00 stuck with it, he found us and asked if we meant to give it to him and returned it!!!You just don't find that anymore! We were so impressed that I went back in and gave him the $20!Thank you for your loyalty!

Paxton''s is located within Sawmill. They have a large selection of NM craft beers, ciders, and wine. We had a very strange experience when visiting last Thursday evening (6/3). We arrived and stood at the South side of the bar by the sign that said line starts here. After standing there a few minutes and seeing people walk up to the front and north sideOf the bar we were approached by a young woman with short blond hair and asked what we wanted. I politely said to her, I think the woman to our right was there before us. The woman I was referring to said thank you and the bartender literally turned her back to both our party and the other woman and left the bar area all together and walked outside. We never saw the employee return. We stood there several minutes longer and saw people going to the front and other side of the bar and getting served while a line was forming behind us. I caught the eye of another bar tender and asked about how this worked since there seemed to be no attention paid to those standing in line and was told it was first come, first served. I said, then why is there a sign saying line forms here and he shrugged and walked away. We moved over to the front of the bar and then were served. Not sure why there is a sign if that isn't how it worked and was unimpressed with the attitude of the bartenders. Paying $7.00 a beer is not unexpected in a place like Sawmill. I was disappointed in the lack of customer service and attitude that seemed to be non-customer service based with no clear plan on how to work the line. There were 10 or so people lined up behind us. Not sure what their experience was after we left. My recommendation would be to either remove the line starts here sign and say instead first come first served and honor that. Also, you have some very unhappy employees as evidenced by the way they were treating customers. Need to work on that. There are plenty of other places close by that will happily serve customers.

Great selection of local beers! They have a few tap cocktails as well, although they are pretty strong. I love that they rotate the seasonal beers, they have something new to try every few weeks! My one complaint would be the experience I had yesterday. My buddies and I frequent the market, and Paxtons is where we grab our drinks. Usually, there's a guy with a backwards hat that helps us. Super friendly dude, Dave I think is his name, and very knowledgeable. This last time we visited, we waited about ten minutes. There was no one else in line, but the bartender wasn't behind the bar. When she came in from outside, she seemed annoyed by our presence. She served us quickly and the beers were great, I just found it odd that after being away from her bar she said nothing about us waiting. Maybe she was having a bad day? I went back for one more and again had to wait until she came back from wherever, again seeming irritated at having to do any work. This employee had short black hair, a septum ring, and blonde ish bangs (hopefully her boss sees this and corrects the behavior) I guess we will see on our next visit.
