Paleteria La Reina de Michoacan

I love, love, love Mexican ice cream shops. You will find this shop in a small strip mall, with a decent sized private parking lot that it shares with the other businesses in the mall. They have an adequate dining area with television, and it is very clean. I arrived about 30 minutes before they closed, and they had closed the dining area. They have all of your Mexican ice cream favorites including agua frescas., mangonadas, yogurts, fruit bars, chocolate covered bananas, and cones with an exotic assortment of flavors to choose from. They also serve Dori-nachos and corn, banderillas and nachos.I had just eaten dinner and was looking for a quick treat, so I got a Strawberries and Cream with almonds on top. The staff was friendly enough and my treat was ready in less than 5 minutes. The treat was pretty good. The cream and strawberries were fresh. I wish I was able to eat it in the dining room, but I had to wait about 20 minutes or so until I got back to my hotel. Ohh well, it was still pretty fresh. This is a place that should surely get some consideration if you are looking for some Mexican treats.

I had a small ice cream cup with tres leches and gansito, my husband had pistachio and tres leches, my youngest son had strawberry cream and cookies and cream. My oldest had the rolls with cookies and cream. It was all very delicious. And the young lady who helped us gave us a few samples to try. It wasn't cheap about $30 for these 4 items. But it was a delicious treat. I have to say the tres leches was phenomenal and not overly sweet. And the gansito was a close second (strawberry, chocolate and cake).

Yummy! Got the strawberries con creama! Super good, the restaurant is small but cute! There's a lot of popular options. They have a little claw machines to play while you wait. The lady at the front desk was so nice! We don't speak Spanish very well but she's super friendly and helped us pick out what she thought would be good! Definitely coming back

We love this place. So many delicious choices. And yet, the tres leches ice cream always seems to call out my name, so I haven't tried many things on the menu. It's an unpretentious place to indulge your sweet tooth.

This place was a huge let down and did not live up to its high Yelp rating. Maybe it was an off night. I am not sure, however, I don't think I would ever visit this establishment again. Let me just say that I ordered ice cream and it was fine. Not great, simply fine. Nothing to write home about. My friend ordered paleta and papas locas, reportedly these were both great. But it takes more than fine and great food to be remarkable. I look for customer service, value and during these times - safety. As for customer service - it was terrible. I felt incredibly rushed and my questions to clarify items (the 2 questions I asked) were answered rather short and without eye contact. As for value, I ordered a small cake cone with one scoop of ice cream. It was the most pitiful looking ice cream and I was charged $4. When I clarified with the server to confirm the price, she looked confused, said something to someone else, then just looked back at me confused. Communicating and ordering should NOT be this difficult. And $4 for the cone was quite outlandish. While this poor customer service and interaction were ongoing, I was also contending with the fact that there were 10+ people in the shop, no social distancing, and people waiting for food along the freezer boxes blocking viewing for those trying to order. Sure everyone had masks on and indoor dining was suspended but nothing else suggested that this shop was implementing top notch safety precautions. It was disappointing and anxiety provoking to say the least.I hope management reads this and implements some improvements all around. I am sure with the variety of items sold here and history of greatness, that fine tuning their service delivery during this time could go a long way!

Always nice service, fresh food and delicious options. Many ice cream flavors, chocolate covered bananas and other stuff, popsicles, chips from Mexico and lots more.

Everything from the huge colorful menu board to the individually wrapped frozen fruit bars & ice creams aka: paletas caught my eye. There was a variety of sweet and savory snacks including homemade chips and corn dogs. Lots of variety on both the menu & in their freezer section including fresh: Agua Frescas. I enjoyed the Strawberries & Cream topped with granola. So delicious! Tres Leches paletas were good as well.I took a star away because it's a cash only It's a place you should definitely try an a crisp warm fall evening.

We found this place after walking the Nature Center. We got some ice cream cones:vanilla, chocolate and coconut. The service was fast and friendly and the ice cream is delicious! The kids love it!

Paleteria is very clean has amazing ice cream bars, different flavors of ice cream but takes cash only! Store hours are from 12:00pm - 9:00pm open everyday and very polite to our newest customers! We have both English and Spanish speaking employees who will cater to your needs. Our delicious snacks will have you coming back for more!
