Kip and Jay put together an amazing day of mountain biking! Pick up was right on time, and there was a dialed in dual sus Rocky Mountain ready to ride. But first a breakfast burrito, with green chile of course, at Kips spot. Full day of trail slaying followed, with trails that had a great mix of flowy loam and rocky tech. A beverage was much welcomed at the end of the day. Great experience, and totally worth every penny.

Jay and Kip took me on a fantastic shuttle ride through the Manzanito Mountains Trail System. We bombed down I don't know how many hundreds of feet of elevation over 15 miles of sweet trail. Their knowledge of the trails came in handy as they frequently gave advice on what to expect in upcoming sections. And watching them negotiate tricky sections made it easy for me to do the same. We did from Oak Flat area to the Coyote Trailhead. The Manzanito Mountains trails are fantastic. Even if you think you know them, riding them as a shuttle with people who are knowledgeable and skilled is a whole new experience.

Just got off the mountain with Kip and Jay and had a great time. The entire experience was professional, first class, and fun. Setting up the ride was easy and fast. Kip got my rental bike squared away with zero hassle and it was a spectacular rig (a Yeti 4.5 - I want one.) Jay met us at the trail head with breakfast burritos from his restaurant (which is absolutely worth checking out - the Greenside Cafe in Cedar Crest, close to the trail head). I described my skill level, fitness level, and my desires, and planned a route through the Manzanito Mountains Trail System that met all my requirements. It's hard to imagine doing this system without a guide - there are a million trails and without these guys I would have spent most of my time trying to figure out where I was, and would have certainly gotten onto some trails above my pay grade. We shuttled to a few different trail heads, which was good for this flatlander - the trails are at, like, 6,000 ft so I was huffing and puffing. They kept a close eye on my progress and continually suggested trails that were appropriate to my capabilities and fitness. We went about 25 miles over the course of a day, and I had little energy left. They brought snacks, energy bars, lunch, water, beer...all the essential food groups for mountain biking. The Manzanito Mountains Trail System is definitely worth checking out. It has everything from fun, fast flowing jams to gnarly rock encrusted ups and downs. Two thumbs up for Kip and Jay.
