Very grateful for the frontline healthcare workers during these trying times. My son was scheduled to have surgery, and they weren't sure until they got in there if it would end up being a lesser procedure or a more complex procedure. Turns out it was more complex and the staff of doctors and nurses and administration were wonderful through it all.

Today we are here for an orthopedic appointment follow up after we had a fluoroscopy and a CT scan done last week. Keep in mind that they are not too busy as we are dealing with Covid 19. We were 20 minutes early for our appointment and took a number upon entering. We then waited a total of 40 minutes after our appointment time before we were called to check in!!When I asked after waiting the typical 15 mins. I was told that there was only one person checking in patients and that she was behind. I hope UNMH can put more help on the schedule to be more efficient.

They scheduled my mother for a cataract surgery at 8:30 am on a Wednesday. The job market is bad so I can't afford to call out of work. They say the appointment will only take 30 min so no more then an hour. Well as of 10:40am they still have not started surgery on my mother. I'm still waiting. I am now late for work and my schedule is ruined because of their inability to stick to their schedule. I'd give them no stars if that was an option. They're not worthy of one star in my opinion. If they can't stick to a simple schedule I wouldn't trust them with anesthesia. If I only knew what I know now I'd never let my mother be operated on by these so called surgeons. UPDATE: after not being able to contact them on their phone through the patient option for the past 3 phone calls. I had to press the vendor option. As soon as I pressed it I was talking to a bright cheerful person. They told me my mother is just now being operated on. After I was told this before. She told me 10 to 15 min no longer and sorry for the wait. It's now 11:10 and nothing. So from 830am till 11:13 am and I'm still waiting. They just called at 11:15 and said she was done and ready to be picked up. So I can in vision another 20 min of waiting. After waiting for 25 min after they called and told me she was ready to be picked up they rolled her out. Now off to wait for the doctor at the other place we had to drive to after her surgery. So now another 30 min or an hour of waiting.

I visited this service for the first time on June 6, 2019. I walked up from Lomas and was a bit early. I took a number, was called very quickly, and I checked in. Then I waited again... for about 3 minutes! No time to open my book! The ultrasound was done by a skilled young lady (but I'm biased, I think everyone working at UNMH is very good). It didn't take long at all (your mileage may vary). I could have taken a shuttle back to Lomas (the main hospital) but decided to walk again and await Suntran. I will use shuttle next time, on a hot day; I'm glad that service is available for nondrivers. So if you need OSIS, they're good :)

The nicest people wirk here. You really feel well taken care of when you come here. Check in is a breeze. The waiting room is comfortable. The people in back go out of their way to take care of you. I love the UNM system.
