One Central

DO NOT MOVE HERE. WELCOME TO HELL. Major highlights: Zero security, homless people living in the hallways and shared spaces on the building, no management and loud shaky building.I will start by saying that my partner and I are no strangers to city living - we lived in New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas, NV. We are not put off by noise or some crime in general. I NEVER lived in a place filthyer, louder and less safe then One Central.We moved in on a date recommended by the property maneger, on move day, we received no instructions or guidance. He did not respond to calls, text, emails or maintenance request for DAYS. When we entered our apartment it was filthy, it had former tenants socks and underwater in the dryer, a bullit hole in the window, kids finger prints all over the place, blood stains on the floor and more. There is NO security, there was a murder in the building the week we moved in, and for the first month, the fire alarm went off almost every night between midnight and 3am. The fire and police department HATE this place and avoid coming. Every night we needed to take down our pets from the 6th floor in the middle of the night because of these fire alarms, passing the small homeless camps inside the stairways of the building. There are always new bullit holes in the lobby, punch holes in the walls, doors kicked down and vandalized elevators and keypads. People use the parking lot and recycling center as a bathroom, so there is a lot of bodily fluids(and solids) all around the building. It took the property maneger days to give us explanation on how to use the internet, and he was extremely rude when doing so. It took over a week to recive a mail key. There are also homeless people and random drunks in the other amenities in the building, probably because you don't need a fab (key) to use the elevator, and the fabs in the building are generic so any gym fab will work on any door. The individual floors get cleaned once a week or everywhere week (when confronting management, he said that is not true, but it is), which means, dog urine, mud, puke and food left there for weeks. I cannot blame the one kind cleaning guy who is the ONLY employee on the whole building and cleans for 14 hours a day, it is just to much work for one person. The system meant to let guest in the building does not work, so prepare to walk to the first floor and let guest and Amazon deliveries and in everytime. This place is also SO LOUD. The walls are paper thin, Central is a race track and Canvas is so loud on the weekends the whole building shakes and it sounds like there is a party in your apartment even on the top floor. The trash shoot never works, meaning the hallways accumulate trash. Once there was no hot water for h a fay. According to the building maneger, they only operate Tuesday through Friday but you are extremely lucky to get any response ever. Do yourself a favor, save your money and RUN from this place.(BTW, I think Google reviews gey deleted, look at apartments.com for other reviews).

This new building downtown has a great potential for downtown living. With housing and retail space it can afford the best of downtown living. I am looking forward to see more business open in the building.

The management is greedy and unpolite. I returned the keys to the apartment to the property manager who did an inspection and accepted it. Weeks later they charged me a 245 cleaning fee for an apartment I returned cleaner than when I entered with regular wear. I expect. Cleaning an apartment would be accepted, but the abusive fee is unaccepted.On a side note. The building has poor maintenance, homeless people sleep in the mailing room several times, and safety is a concern (there are bullet holes on the glasses on the lobby). One of the elevators stayed more than 6 months broken, and often the second elevator stopped working too, forcing the tenants to use the stairs, carrying groceries. Definitely do not worth the price of rent. I wish I had seen the reviews here before renting. I'm glad I got rid of this hole.

There is so much to say about this place, I'm not even sure where to start. First of all, One Central has ZERO amenities. For the price I would live somewhere that is safer, taken care of, and has amenities to offer their tenants. What they do offer- an unsafe living environment- think homeless man walking into apartments, blood on the walls from fights, packages and other belongings getting stolen. One personal example: My husband and I had been away for the holidays for about 2 months and when we came back our bikes were stolen from the tenant storage room locked together. You need a key fob to get to the floor and to get into the storage room. When we brought this to the manager, absolutely nothing was done and when we asked for cameras to be added to the storage room, he stopped responding. Speaking of management- they do not care about the tenants and good luck speaking to someone that is kind and helpful. Then, the same management thought it would be a good idea to add a club on the third floor. We lived on the 5th floor and could feel it and hear it. Plus it brought some not so nice people to the apartment complex. There are also bullet holes in the windows on the second floor and in one of the apartments on my floor that was shot from outside on Central. There is so much more, but this is getting long already. I would never tell anyone to live here. The only nice thing I could say is that the units are nice, but not worth your safety and sanity.
