On the Flip

I love when the burger patty has a crunchy sear on the outside. Usually the patties are on the thinner side and they do a good job of keeping the balance. I had the burqueno which came with generous dollops of hatch chilies. My kid got the og cheese burger which was a hit with her. We rounded the meal off with fries, sweet tots and the kid wanted queso and nachos so ..Unlike a couple of other establishments in the tim can alley, they brought the food out to us which was nice. It was an enjoyable meal in a cool setting.

We tried a carne asada, a Fish taco and a chicken taco. Unfortunately we didn't care for any of them. There are so many delicious tacos in New Mexico this place didn't cut it. The taco broke on the chicken and the meat wasn't very good. The carne asada was too fatty and the fish was very fishy in flavor... we have lived near refresh fish before so we have had delicious fish tacos. The best part about the place was the chips/salsa. They do meet gluten free needs which is a positive and makes them a 3 vs 2 star. I wouldn't eat here again unfortunately. The seating in tin can alley is find your own which can be stressful if they are busy. I only come to this location when others request it.

We enjoyed our lunch immensely! Hubs and I shared the green chile cheese fries and loved them. The fries were crispy and the bacon and queso yummy. I had the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. So spicy and delicious. Hubs had the flip burger and it was good. We liked it enough we said we would come back soon.

Yummy cheesecake stuffed sopapilla. I've had their buffalo Mac and cheese and I wasn't a big fan. But this was good. Nice and warm sopapilla and sweet cream cheese filling. My partner had gotten some ice cream so I put some on the sopapilla and it was great! But would I get it again? Maybe not.

I was hopeful with the frito pie and trying some French fries but man. There is no flavor on anything. If the fries didn't have sea salt, yuck. And the frito pie was boring. I was expecting some flavor from the beef or beans (especially since the front worker talked me out of the burger, saying the frito pie was better). Then, considering the price....I'll take my flip flops elsewhere.

Not sure why this place hasn't been reviewed yet, but I'm assuming it's because they're probably pretty new!I was missing the "surf food" of LA so I came into the food court at Tin Can Alley and was immediately bombarded in the best way by some delicious odors. I followed my nose right to this place and after some perusal I decided on the Aloha Yard Bird Burger. One of my dining partners got the steak asada tacos.These guys (metaphorically) deliver! I really enjoyed my burger, and the "Hella Tacos" we got were also pretty good! I imagine if I had been surfing somewhere and then flown into ABQ and wanted something to quench my hunger, this would be the perfect choice :-PThere's a lot of options at Tin Can Alley, so there's plenty to try when you're here, but why not give a (presumably) new restaurant a go? I think you might find something you like :)

my husband and I were looking for a place to eat and your advertising and your pictures call go good and we really wanted to try it. as we got to Tin Can we walk around and check to see all the other varieties of food and we still decided to go to your location, as we were standing there waiting to be served, one of your workers there made us so uncomfortable that we decided not to eat there every time she touched a dirty plate or a dirty cup or even a aluminum can she made the gross face ever that's not a good customer service when you have someone working behind the counter and you can't have someone serving food making faces like that. if it's a germ phobia, she is not in the right service.

My favorite place to eat at Tin Can Alley. I always get the burqueno burger and fries and it's always been perfect. The green chile is pretty hot so if you don't want to sweat ask them for easy chile. The buns are delicious, the fries are crispy and the people that work there are always friendly! I still need to try the tacos but always go with the burger. It's too good to pass up!

I've eaten at the other places here, and after the experiencing the terrible customer service, and equally terrible Frito Pie, I won't be ordering from On The Flip ever again. Service in this city is consistently less than stellar, but rarely does one experience service this bad. I would be okay with just "unfriendly". But this is a whole new level of bad. The person taking orders would barely speak, and it was painstakingly obvious they absolutely hate their job...or their life...or people in general...probably all three. I was hoping the Frito Pie would make me forget all about the crappy counter service and the "cook" in back on his phone sans gloves and sans hand washing before slopping my plate together. But no. I just wasted over $12 on bland food. Worst Frito Pie in town hands down. Worst service in ABQ. Yay for Tin Can Alley. Boo to On the Flip. Literally every other place here serves great food. Don't let my pic fool you. The food looks much better than it tastes. Come to Tin Can. Do not eat or patronize On the Flip. Poor quality food is one thing. Rude service is quite another.

Came in late dying of hunger. They were closing up shop and usually at the time at which I ordered.... They wouldn't be able to make burger! BUT my man Diego in the kitchen hooked me up with one anyway!!! These guys are the best, BURGERS ARE DOPE and don't skip out on the loaded fries!
