You know it's been a long minute since I've walked in this place. It brought back so much nostalgia from my college days. I remember hitting this place up at least once a week for the lobo super gyro. The staff always welcoming. The place was like a living time capsule. Nothing was different from what I'd remembered other than a flat screen in the dining area which I absolutely loved.Well spoiler alert you already know what I went in for. That's right, the lobo gyro! I made it a combo with the fries and a refreshing Pepsi. It's not often I drink soda but I figured it was a special occasion. The meal was out fairly quickly. I was so eager to get my food I found myself almost grabbing the wrong order when I heard the staff call out a number. I really should've read the receipt! LolThe gyro was just as I'd remembered. I had that Harold and Kumar moment when they finally got White Castle. This was my White Castle. I savored every bite. The meat so juicy, and seasoned well combined with the sauce and onions, it was heavenly. The fries of course were the perfect encore to a delicious dinner. It goes without saying I'll definitely be back. My only complaint is the parking situation. They got rid of the lot behind the restaurant unfortunately. Now it belongs to an apartment complex. Sadly that area has joined the downtown trend of paid parking. Free parking is quickly becoming a mythical thing of the past.

Stopped by since we were in the area running errands. My girlfriend was craving the potatoes they serve here.We ordered hummus, potatoes, chicken salad, and a lamb sandwich. Everything tasted good with no complaints. It was right about noon on a Saturday when we came in and it wasn't too busy. Order up front and pickup your order. The place has a Greece theme in the interior and the place was clean. We parked on the side of the street, which was clear, but the area can get crowded quick since it's right by the university. The area can be a little sketchy due to the amount of homeless people around.

Pastitsio was unrecognizable an inedible. The soup was a lemon no chicken flavor. So bad I thru it away and ate a PBJ sandwich.

The next ABQ restaurant review installment took place at @olympiacafeandgyros . This was a bit of a tricky review as I mainly focus on food quality but things were a bit different this time. At this restaurant, you order up front then grab your own table and silverware, then you pick it up at the counter when your tray is ready. The hostess was a sweet young woman. However, management left us feeling awkward. There were several instances where we heard shouting from the kitchen. How awkwardly embarrassing, Unfortunately, the awkwardness continued when another young employee went to the back room close to where we were sitting and acknowledged his employer (not original owners) as "Boss i need you." (Oops) The dining room was in need of repairs, and seemed to be used as storage. Although we felt chilled, the bathroom was not only clean, but heated too (bonus!). Now, onto the meal itself. Hubby got a gyro and was pleased with his. I opted for a falafel platter, for which I used French fries to dip my hummus in as the bread that came with the platter actually came as a premade (and rather spicy for me) sandwich. I worked through it as best as I could because the quality was definitely high. In the future, I would have preferred to choose my own level of spicy. My tummy was ok the rest of the day but my tummy was extra refluxy the next. (Which we laughed off to "spicy." ) Same for the hummus (which didn't come with dipping bread). The tabbouleh itself was an unfortunate miss. The dry areas lacked flavor, which then overpowered me with lemon in the wet portion. Perhaps in the future they could dress it separately and mix well? Overall, based on total experience, I'm giving this place a 3/5. If you've been there and had a different experience, please drop me a comment below, as most other people averaged it a 4.5. I'm super curious about their moussaka and rice pudding. #gourmetrecovery #saturdayrestaurantreview #albuquerquerestaurant

Dropped in for lunch today after years away, but the quality was still top tier for the price. Ordered the lamb souvlaki platter and it was as good as it was a decade ago. They use REAL feta that has flavor unlike the feta you get lately. Highly recommended for a quick bite.

We saw this restaurant on a tour we took in Albuquerque. It's located across from UNM (University of New Mexico). We ordered the grecian chicken dinner w potatoes and the lamb gyro. After sitting at our table for a few minutes we were informed that they were out of lamb. We got the recommended substitute. The food was okay. The salad and potato was extra vinegary. The greek chicken was tender but lacked taste overall. Would I come back while visiting, probably not. The price point was acceptable.

I come here from time to time. I know what to expect. It's usually not great, to be honest, but it serves a particular craving. Today was really bad, though. Yikes. Stale and chewy pita. I did not finish it. Cold, rubbery meat. The temperature of the food was truly a disgrace. The flavor is good but it does not feel fresh at all. Even the tzatziki sucked. The fries felt undercooked. This was not a good experience.

Went there last night before going to a play. It used to be full of people. At six, it was empty. I found out why. I ordered the vegetarian combo. My friend had the regular combo. There wasn't one thing that was recognizable and all of it was awful. Oh, let's not forget the potatoes. Were they boiled in oil and served with a ladle full just to make sure we knew it? The pita was like greasy naan. Neither one of us could eat it. The original owners must have sold the business. The vinyl seats were torn. Tables were uneven and hadn't been wiped down. OMG!!!! What a terrible experience!!!

Haven't been here is a while, they used to have some of the best Greek food in the city. What a let down today ! The owner could have been a lot more friendly kinda humdrum additud. Ordered a couple of Gyros horrible ! The bread they were served on was stale and not warm, the meat was dry luck warm , some real crappie food ! I definitely don't recommend this place anymore ! beware hope I don't get sick from it. Filthy inside also not clean at all .
