They had so many items with a southwest flare, lots of things like yard sculptures, rugs, decor items, just a lovely shop in Old Town. The gentleman who greeted us at the door was friendly and welcoming without being pushy. He pointed out different sizes of the placemats and table runners that I was looking at and suggested the best way to view them-lay them on the floor. A couple of other women also helped look through the inventory to locate the color scheme I was looking for with me, and it is a big inventory, so many patterns and items to choose from. Everybody was so friendly and helpful. It took a little time to find the color scheme-gray background-but with their help I found exactly what I was looking for. It was a great purchase and a great experience! When you are in Old Town it's a 'must visit' store.

Great folks. Really knowledgeable about their items. Walked around with us and were never pushy. Wrapped items well for plane ride home.

House Trap Nice store that's filled to the brim on two levels of handmade goods that are made in Mexico. The owners are really nice and ready to answer any and all questions but the pricing on a lot of their wares was a touch high for my liking. However, a lot of it is considered art, so I get that pricing can be subjective. Regardless of which it's still worth checking out as they really do have some amazing craftspeople making their stock.

If you are on the old town plaza , chances are high that you will pass through this beautiful shop and I highly recommend going in even if buying something is not on your mind . Exquisite collection and lots of items like rugs , metal garden décor, wall hangings etc .There is something for every kind of traveler. The owner was really welcoming and encouraged us to ask questions. Prices seem very worth the effort they put in.

Our friends went to this store to purchase a metal figure. The man who is part of the family offered to ship the item. Our friends elected to ship it themselves via Fed Ex . Upon arrival to FedEX, the female clerk said the item could not be shipped in the small box because the part of the metal " donkey" was sticking out and had a hole in it. Fed Ex said they could ship it in that condition WTH???They had to ship the smaller, cheap home depot box inside a larger box. This cost the couple more $.When it did arrive the item was damaged, ( bent). They shove the item to "fit in the smaller box. Geeshh!!!!!!They call the the store owners and they refused to reimburse them for the added costs. Really??Please beware when you have them ship. They will use a cheaper Home depot box and then refuse to reimburse you for the "added " costs. Is this really good business sense. Then they tell our friends that they will only give them $50.00. They have yet to send them the money. Promise unkept. Please beware of these folks. This is not how to treat customers who support latino owned businesses. What a shame. I see a legal litigation coming. Not cool at all. Sad.

I grew up getting hand-me-downs. Clothes. Toys. Furniture. You name it. So my gut is to always find stuff for free. Consequently I strongly considered just passing through. But, this place was too endearing to pass up. Oaxacan Zapotec House, the newest decor establishment in the Old Town central plaza, has a number of fantastic rugs, wall hangings, and garden trinkets made by their family from Oaxaca, MX. Many of the pieces are hand woven or constructed. There is an amazing variety of patterns and colors. According to Juan, the son of the owner, all rugs are dyed on both sides, which brings out the colors more vibrantly, but also gives the pieces a longer self-life (he says his grandfather has a piece that's over 100 years old). The sizes vary, so you can find everything from a throw rug to a full centerpiece. The diversity of patterns are exceptional. And the prices seem better than the competitors. We bought two rugs and a cross for our home we plan to close on later this month (first time homebuyers). It's probably one of the best purchases I've ever made (the rugs and the home). It feels great to support artisans in their craft and a local small business, instead of looking at the mega rug emporium or World Market-type places. Adulting is more rewarding than I ever imagined.

We were the literal first customers here and had an amazing experience! The selection is incredible and everything is hand-woven in Oaxaca, Mexico, where the family is from. The son (who runs the shop) and dad (the master Weaver) are incredibly helpful and very informative about the shop, weaving, items, process. And super, super sweet. We left with two items that at Sante Fe galleries would have been at least three times as much. This is a REALLY lovely shop with a huge selection of rugs, tapestries, weaving, and other decor items (wood carvings, crosses, metalwork). It's also just beautiful to walk through!

Have to agree with other reviews....fabulous textures and many wonderful designs done by the family / other talented weavers from Oaxaca. Fun metal art (love metal flowers out on my back deck!), carvings......just a fabulous place to duck in and spend a little time finding lovely items and chatting with knowledgeable, helpful owners :-)

About the best buying experience my wife and I have ever had, Juan and his family of weavers are highly recommended. As soon as we entered the store, Juan greeted us. He was very informative and helpful in our gaining an understanding of their craft and process in the creation of their rugs. His warm, kind demeanor and passion for what his family creates made us glad to purchase an exquisite rug. And the rugs! - they are all beautifully dyed and truly one-of-a kind works of art. Another reviewer had stated that their price point in relation to other market opportunities is exceptional, and I would echo that as well. We encourage you to stop in and see for yourself.
