Bought a home in October. First half was delivered same day as closing. Everything was going AMAZING! Process was amazingly easy. Marie was contacting all the contractors to get everything done. Estimated we should be in by Thanksgiving. Delivered on Oct 19 and thats when everything went to hell. This was our first time buying, so we had no idea how the process worked. Land had to be leveled before they could set up. No one had came out to let us know what needed to be done before it was delivered. Had no choice but to go with the set up crew's boss because "you need to choose today." Cost us $600. Fine whatever, we have to do it, right?! Second half comes out and leveling gets done. Guys came back out to set up for a few days. Then nothing. No communication about what is going on. A week in, I email in and ask whats going on. "Oh we had someone quit, we are trying to find someone to get out there to finish." Still nothing. Then a couple more weeks go by and I get a "well have you contacted all the contractors to do the hookups?" EXCUSE ME!!! YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE DOING THAT. Basically got an "oops, my bad." Utility hook ups were added into the cost of the home. I had to take it upon myself to set up most of everything. Called and filed a complaint with the corporate office. Got a call back from Ken. Was told to call Ken directly with any issues, but he is conveniently not available or not in the office EVERY TIME I CALL. He agreed to pay the December payment and the $600 leveling bill because they dropped the ball. However in exchange for this, we are to give a 10 when we get the call asking about our experience. Only 10 you will be getting is a NEGATIVE 10. Home has tons of loose trim, missing light bulbs, busted sheet rock. Service department came out and did some work, then came back out a few weeks later to "finish" and spent 20 minutes and left. Guess we have to do that ourselves now too. Now no one from Oakwood will return my calls or emails anymore. Well F*** THEM! As of today, we still can't live in it. Now have code enforcement violations for a permit that was never gotten and for having 2 residences on the property because we are still living in the old house.
