Just to clarify, our child just happens to be insanely talented, one-in-a-million, a total standout. You won't hear many parents make these kinds of statements, but I'm willing to go out on a limb, here, and say that while she's not a Prodigy, perhaps, she's far more capable than, say, your kid. It's not like we had her tested, or something, we're just objective observers, sitting at the same recitals you are, looking at the crop of 'em, listening to their pathetic attempts to make their cellos sing. It's pretty obvious, isn't it? All of her teachers say it, too. She's exceptional. So you can trust this review. Our exceptional kid has enjoyed her experience at this school, and we're glad they're grooming her for Julliard. The building made some ventilation updates during the second half of 2020 to mellow our COVID concerns, too. Our main issue is the billing process. We pay a fixed, monthly charge for instruction, yet for any number of reasons, during any month, her class time can be cut in half -- think school break periods, holidays, that sort of thing. It's super inconsistent. Paying per class is simply a smarter way to go. We like smarter. We raised it.

The staff here is just wonderful. I tried to begin cello lessons (according to guidelines of course) during COVID which was stressful for everyone involved. It took nearly a month to finally get things settled what with quarantine restrictions, but the NMSoM team went SO far out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. They even worked with a cello renter to make sure I had an instrument in time despite delivery issues, new safety protocols to follow, etc... They really will go out of their way for you. HIGHLY recommend!

While the instruction has been great the billing seems to be a mess. If they forget to charge a fee, for enrollment for instance, and their billing system "catches" it later on they give you zero notification that the auto pay for that months tuition will be higher. You just get slapped with a higher than expected debit. Now perhaps for those with large bank accounts this is small potatoes but for a single parent on a budget with more than 1 child enrolled in lessons this can cause catastrophe. How hard is it to send an email or call to mention the error and give a little warning? Not cool. It's also become a real pain in the ass to get to this location because of ART construction. A little courtesy would go a long way, like for instance letting clients know the route to get to the school has changed significantly and an alternative way to get to their facility.

This is a wonderful school for children and adults of all ages. The teachers are fantastic. There are two locations, both of which are convenient and provide a lovely venue for music. My children have made tremendous progress in the year they have attended. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for music lessons.
