Ok, so the price jumped almost 400% from $2.50 to $9 in less than a year? The Santa Fe depot is actually a tourist location called the Railyard. This, not so much. The depot is an urban and desolate spot, up some stairs and past some underemployed leisurely types of sunbathers. With two tracks it was unclear which way to go- the signs didn't help, and even calling the customer service didn't help. We guessed it was the second track and guessed right. So, despite the slightly rundown area, there's still no faster, cheaper, easier, and safer way to get from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, if you so choo-choo-choose. It's convenient because you don't have to get there early to get a ticket, or deal with a machine, or even make sure you have cash. The friendly crew comes by to sell you tickets while you sit there and pretend your feet weren't on the chair in front of you. They don't like that. There are no layovers like airports or transfers like buses or weird colored lines like subways. The trains are clean and comfortable. Sometimes the guys on the speaker sound like you're on Big Thunder Railroad- I almost expected to see a goat eating dynamite.

First time taking the rail runner from Albuquerque airport to Santa Fe. Had to take a bus from airport to downtown but it was a few bus ride so made the trip cheaper. We took the express train which is a bit faster. Overall, very nice and smooth ride, air conditioning was comfortable and not too cold. Very nice ride and relatively quiet. A great alternative way to commute from point A to point B.

Finally tried riding the Railrunner train and I was quite impressed. The train is very clean inside. Almost looked like new. Picked it up in Santa Fe. There's four stops there so it's easy to get on close to home. Lots of parking too. I'm going to explore all the stops by riding the Railrunner often now that I know how easy it is. Pay on the train. Conductor passes through and asks where you got on and where you want to get off. He compiles the fare and gives you a receipt. Best buy is a round trip ticket I f you are only spending the day as I did. They take cash or credit cards.

What many locals don't take advantage of, is our Rail Runner Train. It's clean, comfortable and beats driving to Santa Fe, etc.? It takes approx an hour and half from Downtown ABQ to Santa Fe Depot. If your adventurous, get off at "South Capital", walk over to Clafoutis Rest., pick up a delicious beignet and coffee then walk to the Plaza. Drink and eat edibles all day and not worry about driving home. Train Discounts (it's inexpensive already) are available to Seniors, Vets, Kids and Handicap. Hope to see you on the Rails. Thanks for reading.Avram Mentallyhandicap D.Div.

Love public rail transport in Dallas, Chicago, NY, San Francisco, Atlanta, Italy, UK, China, Germany, Russia, and Netherlands, so I had to try NM. On time service from Zia station in Santa Fe to Downtown Albuquerque was comfortable air conditioned, clean, safe, and onboard payment (cash or credit card) was easy. Online there's a very easy to follow schedule/route map. Oddly, there is no schedule/route map posted on the train or in the stations, but onboard there are free pamphlets with the info, so Get One!Zia station has no public parking despite having adjacent a huge empty lot. Instead park across the very busy intersection at Albertson's, slide down an embankment to the sidewalk, and hope everyone obeys the traffic signal while you walk across 6 lanes of highway. Good Luck, especially at night. The service onboard consists of heavy-handed enforcement of nationwide TSA mask rules. Passengers who allow their mask to slip off their nose are threatened to be off-boarded in the middle of Native American reservation pueblos. This is more than a little stupid; it is irresponsible. Finally, the nearby train route does not include the only major airport in the state. How this obvious stop was omitted is a mystery. Taking a cab from the airport to the Bernalillo Station offers a cheap, although not entirely convenient way to travel to Santa Fe.

The railrunner was super convenient to utilize for the Winterbrew fest in Santa Fe. The staff on board were friendly and courteous. I would have given 5 star rebiew, but its difficult to distinguish what the stops are as there is no signage on board and when the conductor speaks its muffled. As always its best to plan ahead and know you're

Whether you're a tourist or a commuter, this has a place in your heart. You like trains. I like trains. We ALL love trains! Why aren't there more of them? That's a looong story but in NM, you can ride a train, and actually get some trainsportation while you do it. (sorry. couldn't help it). This cute lil' number will get you from a station in Santa Fe to ABQ faster than traffic will allow during rush hour and with a better view than you can get short of a back country horse ride. Need to get to the airport? Check the schedule but you might be able to pull that off as well.Notes: The quiet car only operates during certain hours. (she says sadly, trying to ignore the screaming children 2 seats down)Station info: The Santa fe station is outside, and can be brisk on a windy winter day. The ABQ station is accessible, but NOT the nicest place for you to hang out so you will want to walk a few streets over for drinks rather than hang while waiting for the bus.Have fun.

I'm currently sitting on the Rail Runner Express on my way to Santa Fe!There are lots of little kinks, but overall this is a pleasant experience so I wanted to share and encourage others to give it a try; if not as a regular work commute, then for day trips and adventures. :)The downsides range from minor price discrepancies (says $9 on the internet but I was changed $10) to inconvenient times. Taking the 9:30 from ABQ means I won't get to Santa Fe til 11:30 - late morning for an office worker, but the earlier train stopped at ABQ and didn't continue north. This was my only option. But, I brought my hotspot, got a seat with a table, and with the exception of some playing around on Yelp am able to work quietly on the train making my work day more reasonable. You arrive at the station and pay a waiting ticket agent. The internet says cash or card. The ticket agent prints out your all-day ticket right there; don't lose it as you need to show the on-board ticket agent AND it's how you get back home!A ticket agent and a security guard patrolled the train. Riders were quiet and well-behaved. It was a pleasant ride without the drama of ABQ city busses. (I don't know how it works exactly because I use a monthly pass, but your train ticket is ALSO valid on ABQ & Santa Fe city busses, just fyi.)If you don't get distracted staring out the windows, the commute is an excellent time to get some uninterrupted work done. The ride was occasionally a little bumpy, but not so much so that you can't work with a laptop and breakfast in front of you.Take advantage of and support this amenity we have as increased ridership will drive increases in the service they can provide. Enjoy! :)

I need a day to decompress, and headed out on the 8:30 train to Santa Fe. The ride was smooth and the train was nice and clean. And for $9 you can't beat the access to smooth ride with good views of the countryside.

Let me let you in on a way to save the $35 shuttle to and from Santa Fe. If you can plan your flight to coincide with the Rail Runner. You purchase a Day Pass or one way ticket. If you are a Student you can show them your valid school ID or Class Schedule. Anyone with a disability can show their proof of Disability to get the discount. I purchase my tickets online. If the ABQ AIrport Express Bus is Running from Alvarado Transportation Center its a nonstop ride or take the longer 30 minute ride. Or you can fork over $12 or so for an Uber/Lyft but do take the train to Bernalllio South County station the next one after Alvarado unless you want to spend time in Downtown to eat.Generally the trains run on time and are much more spacious than the Gromes Shuttle(formally Sandia Shuttle) which got some bad reviews. The NM Railrunner is a godsend and not many people use it to the airport.I have had friendly service and I love the views. You can sit back and relax to and from the airprot.Another tip is to rent your car in Santa Fe the day after you arrive if you can stay in Downtown and then return it the day before and take the train to and from the airport.
