Nelson's Meats

Nelson's is right down the road from home. If I need some fresh meat I can run down here for beef, pork, chicken, etc...The tamale masa is great. The carne adovada is some of the best.

Since returning to Albuquerque I knew a visit to Nelson's was a must! They have enlarged, good job! The selection of meat, poultry and so much more is amazing! Pricing is affordable and quality is unsurpassed! Their butchers and service people are kind, understanding, and courteous. Our purchase included a huge chuck roast, pork chops, pork sausage patties, very large chicken breasts, chorizo, red chile, carne a.It's a trek out there for us, but worth every minute!

Loyal! I've been getting my meat here since I started shopping for myself. Over 40 years oh my! They offer fresh high quality meat. Their ground beef is always fresh not brown in the middle with fresh meat surrounding it like a local farm store in town. They also sell Chile, new crop beans, tortillas, cheese, milk and various other products for posole, menudo or tamales. Another plus is exceptional customer service! No matter how busy they are they never rush you, give you service with a smile and carry out your items to your car! Special shout out to Daryl I hope spelling is correct. He provided outstanding customer service, remembered what I wanted the first time, clarified my order explained the different cuts of meat, was fast, and very nice! I wouldn't shop anywhere else! Give it a try you will never shop at that farm store again !

Nelson's is a well known local meat market in the South Valley of Albuquerue. It has such a good reputation, I know many people who will travel out of their way to pay them a visit. On my last visit, during the week, it was pretty mellow. Since it wasn't packed, a butcher took care of my mom and I right away. He was very happy and attentive. He listened to what we wanted and answered questions we had:) When he completed our order, he met us at the checkout and carried our bags to our car. Check it out if you haven't or go back if it's been awhile:) Nothing has changed! Same great owner who cares about his customers and employees!

This is the best meat market that I have ben to in the Albuquerque area. I went on the 30th of Dec for the first time and was amazed. I bought my tripe for my menudo and it was so clean and already cut up in small pieces. I have never seen that any where. All the meats looked amazing. Now the employees were outstanding in assisting and helping us. Even the cashier was so friendly, they made you feel that they welcomed and wanted your business. Really great butcher shop. As we were traveling, we were only seeking large dog bones for our anxious dog...and they did not disappoint. They even offered to cut one in half for us.Super nice customer service. As our kid will be moving here soon, we will definitely be returning and plan to try some of their steaks.

Excellent attentive staff. They move people quickly. I ordered and received a healthy prime rib roast.

Our first visit today and they were busssyyyy. They were really humming along though and the line moved quickly. Their meat case looks so good. We bought a little pork to try and the man who waited on us was nice and funny too. Well go back and try more options.

Delish red chile! We also got a meat order and they were so quick and the cuts were amazing!
