We stayed here early September 2015. The place was fine- clean overall, but very old and used furniture. This is a great place to stay at because it's within walking distance from Salt Restaurant and Wine Bar, which is delicious! When we arrived at the lodge the young man at the front desk was very friendly and professional. On our check-out he made a mistake and gave my husband an enormous amount of cash back by mistake. We returned it, not only because it was the right thing to do, but because he was new and we didn't want him to lose his job. When we were halfway back home to Phoenix, I realized I left my phone charger in the room! I called the lodge and he said he would return it by mail; after all, he was so grateful to have the money back he gave us by mistake. We never did receive my phone charger...

There are many conflicting viewpoints regarding the Moonridge Lodge & Cabins on the Internet. Almost as if half the reviews were written by the owners and half written by spiteful ex-lovers. I'm here to set the record straight. Moonridge Ridge is not the Ritz-Carlton nor is it a dumpster. The truth lies somewhere betwixt. Our studio cabin was clean, spacious, and adequately furnished. One could not have asked for a better location. The price was very reasonable. Our cabin was dog-friendly. The owners were accommodating when a mudslide/thunderstorms delayed our arrival. We enjoyed the solitude of this rustic abode.

So far, we are enjoying our stay here in Cabin 16 (a "cottage" cabin"). It is plenty big for our one night stay and family of four (kids are under 3). My only complaint is the spiders. We found THREE spiders in the bathroom in the time it took for me to take a quick shower (10 minutes is pushing it). If we see one more, we are packing up and sleeping in the minivan. I am not a stranger to camping but If I wanted to rough it or put my kids around spiders, we would be sleeping in a tent, not a cottage. To say the least we will not be planning another stay here. I awarded 3 stars because the property and staff are lovely. Had there not been spiders all over this place, it would be a perfect 5.

A few weeks back my kids and I had to attend a funeral for a family member. We stayed at the Moonridge Lodge. Everyone was so helpful, understanding and caring. We were having problems with getting the fire place going. The guys running the office took the time to come to the cabin and got it started along with bringing wood into the cabin for us. I will be staying here for future trips.

I stayed at the Moonridge Lodge recently for 3 nights. If you are looking for a , quaint, quiet & peaceful place to stay with wonderful owners and staff, than this is the place! I was happy with the small cabin I had, and it fit my needs perfectly. I had one of the smaller cabins with a very comfortable bed, bathroom with a shower, coffee pot, small fridge and microwave. They provide chairs to sit outside and read a book, and a good place to take quiet walks, The cabins have a nice distance between them for enjoying your time outside in the cooler weather. They were made in the late 1950's and I loved all the wood paneling! I can't say enough about the husband wife team and their genuine care over each guest. The sons working their are so pleasant and always have a smile and help when needed. I am so thankful for my visit there and came back to the heat in the Valley reluctantly... I plan to return again soon. Thank you Moonridge Lodge!

I used to stay at chain hotels, but now I prefer to stay at places like this - quaint, inexpensive, and charming. The website said that reservations were recommended - so I made one - but it didn't look like it was very full or busy when I got there. The check-in was quick and simple and I stayed in room 3. I didn't notice any A/C in the room, but opening a couple of windows and using the provided fan seemed to cool everything off quickly. The linens were soft and reminded me of something I'd use at home. The bed was firm and comfortable. Service was nice but I didn't notice that the gentleman behind the front desk was staying in the room next to me. Not sure how comfortable I felt ... almost like I was being watched. Don't know why but it was just a bit unsettling. Woke up to the sound of a drumline at the nearby high school ... and had to use my own shampoo ... oh, and the toilet didn't really flush that well. But all in all, it was a nice place to stay. I'll probably try another place the next time I got back, but this is worth the money ($50) I paid.
