Our two children went to Montessori one for over three years and we always thought Montessori One was one of the best options in Albuquerque, but we realized even more how top notch it is once we moved out of state. After the move, our kids have been in several schools in the best school in districts of the Northeast, and Montessori One was far better than any of them. We were initially attracted by the clean and modern facilities, but the merits of Montessori One are not just limited to that. Our kids were happy in this school, the teachers and staff truly cared for the children and they learned more than we hoped for. The Montessori method they use is great for building concepts early on that they use throughout their elementary and beyond. We were quite amazed at how much they learned and how easily they understood the more advanced concepts in math using Montessori methods. If we still lived in Albuquerque, Montessori One would be our choice beyond doubt.

My husband and I love this place. We truly found a safe haven for my son! Everyone from the very beginning was very supportive and answered all my questions as a first time Mom. I only liked two places after scouring Albuquerque heights infant care services. Montessori One was the winner and I am very happy with their services. All the employees have treated us like friends and family.

I am writing this comment in response to allegations against me. I would like to provide my side of the story to ensure that the situation is handled fairly. Montessori one accuses me of use of inappropriate language in front of children. The allegations are untrue. On Nov 9th, all parents received an email regarding a substantiated CYFD report regarding inappropriate discipline at Montessori one preschool academy. At the time of pick up, I stopped by the director's office and asked if any of my children have ever been subjected to that treatment. The Director in response asked me to find another school as it appeared that a handful of parents are not happy with the way she handles her business. The complete conversation is recorded and available if needed.

I agree that the school is immaculate. My biggest complaint for the school is lack of communication. We rarely saw the teacher since we would drop our child off early and pick up late. There were never notes on how our child was doing or what our child was doing throughout the day. When we decided to take our child out of the school because we just felt unwelcome and with the lack of communication. We submitted the letter 30 days in advance per the policy and on the last day we talked to the teacher in the classroom that we would need all our child's belonging since we would not be returning and the teacher had no idea. Not only do they have poor communication with the family but the front office does not communicate with the teachers.

I am a mother of two children currently enrolled in Montessori One and I could not have better things to say about this school. My children are 5 1/2 and almost 3. The oldest has been enrolled since he was 2 1/2 and has gained so much from his experience there. He is writing in cursive, working on fractions, has good knowledge of the continents, and writes comic books at home for fun. And he's pretty average amongst his peers. My toddler LOVES her class, friends, and teachers. Every time I pick her up I hear all about her day without even asking. She usually includes, "...and I did lots of works, Mom!" They both genuinely enjoy learning and I believe it is the Montessori method that has fostered that love. That said, they do have days where we have some sort of upset or tantrum, but the staff (and other parents) are always very understanding and helpful. The STAFF!! I love these people. I trust and truly believe that they always have the children's best interest, safety, and wellbeing at the core of their work. I am grateful for the connection I share with my children's teachers. If my toddler has a rough morning, I'll send her teacher a text later in the day to check on her and she'll respond with an update and sometimes a picture of my daughter working happily. There are several ways to reach the teachers if concerns arise. From email to text message to plain old pen and notebook in each class' cubby room area. If there is ever a behavioral issue with either of my children their teachers always discuss the incident with me along with the measures that were taken to address it. The children are always re-directed rather than punished. This is a long review but in it I must include Tina Patel, the director of Montessori One. She has an amazing vision for our children and has helped my own family in so many ways. She works hard to ensure her staff are up to date on their education and strict Montessori requirements. She has also offered parent seminars and open houses to ensure parents and families have a good understanding about what's going on in the school and how to help our children grow happy and healthy. Tina is very inclusive and, I believe, genuinely cares about the future of our children. Of course you will come to your own conclusion when choosing what's right for your own family. But I encourage you to check it out for yourself. Montessori One really is a wonderful community.

My son and daughter both attended this school and I found it superb. The academics are what initially attracted me to the school. The classrooms are organized and the teachers are great. The children do fun activities that build fine motor and advance to reading and math based on their ability to master a specific "work," or activity. The tasks become more and more challenging and the kids really learn instead of just playing all day which they can do at home. My son is older now and he misses this school where he was challenged and very happy. The other schools in the area do not compare. Both of my kids thrived in this Montessori setting. I highly recommend this school if you are tired of paying for your kids to play all day.
