I took two antique cedar chests to Minuteman to refinish/repair. The work done was absolutely beautiful! The one needing refinishing had water stains, scratches and broken wood. Once refinished, you would never know of the damage. It is gorgeous now. The one needing repair also turned out beautifully! They were able to find matching material to repair the damage. There was an ornamental piece of wood that broke off and was looking st over the years. They were able to recreate that piece and you'd never know it wasn't original. The price was very reasonable for the work performed. I will definitely use Minuteman for several other antiques needing help.

If you are wanting to replace your kitchen and/or bath cabinets, or just reface them, Minuteman Design is the place to call.We just had both bathroom cabinets refaced, with new doors and drawers. It looks like we replaced cabinets with brand new ones. A spectacular job, from a wonderful bunch of folks. This is a family operation and has been in business for many years. Give them a try.

Incompetent at the very least, probably dishonest. If you have a simple strip and re-stain/varnish job, they might be OK, but I went to them asking for a finish that would require good, professional quality prep before putting on a high gloss coat. They did only the most basic prep and of course the work looked very lousy. When I told them this wasn't OK, they said it was the material I gave them and there was nothing that they could do. I took some of the parts home, sanded them to a near perfect smoothness proving they are lazy or incompetent, probably both. Mistakenly I gave them one more chance. Instead of fixing the prep, sanding, using putty or filler, making everything smooth as I kept on insisting, they just kept painting more and more layers making things even worse. I ended up paying them a bit over half of the agreed price just to get my stuff back, only after the owner insisted they'd have to strip all the paint off of my carefully hand made parts before he'd let me take them home without paying. No way I was letting them strip my woodworking knowing how poorly they do their work when they are getting paid. I can only imagine how roughly they'd treat my woodworking knowing they are loosing money. They delayed my project by weeks, and I'm going to have to pay someone to fix their lousy work in the future when I have time to uninstall the woodworking and leave it with a competent pro. For now I'm finishing up the project with spray cans and I'm getting better results than these "professionals".I cannot express my frustration and regret for trusting these people. They are obviously out to do quick, high profit jobs for people who don't know better. If you can judge good paint work, you will not likely be satisfied with them.

Excellent work and service from J. C. And his staff. We had our two front doors relished after 23 years of exposure to the elements. The doors looked new and the finish was great. They also were very prompt as they did both doors in one day. J. C. Was also very helpful in providing advise on cleaning our staircase and cabinets. Ruben was with J. C. and he was very professional. I have nothing but good to say about this business and would wholeheartedly recommend them to others. Thanks for a great job.
