I'm super far from a gym/active person....gym and joop just don't rhyme well together....but I find a need to try to stay active/keep my health/body in check. So, I (sort of reluctantly) used my workplace perks to get a fitness membership as a step to enable me to stay healthy.I like this gym because they have many different locations that you can go to within ABQ. There are also many different things that you can do at a gym, by they volleyball, swimming, squash, swimming, instructor-led classes, weight/strength training..and hot tub & sauna, etc. I particularly like that the gym is clean, never seemed to be so crowded at all. I've gone there during weekdays and/or weekends...and while weekends there seemed to be more people...there were plenty of room to choose and do your own exercise (partly because the membership here is slightly more expensive, too).Enjoy it a lot and excited to have my own peace exercising without judgement/crowd that usually turn me away from those establishments. Look forward to frequenting this place more often.

I used to enjoy going to this gym when it was consistently cleaned and there were friendly people at the front. However, within the past three months, the quality has really gone down hill and considering the cost of this gym, it is totally unacceptable. Additionally, they have quite a thieving problem at this location specifically. Finally, multiple treadmills are broken and have been malfunctioning for months. Again, given the high cost of this gym, I think it is unacceptable that they are not remedying broken equipment promptly. It is beneficial though in terms of it not being very packed and there not being much of an issue with it being overcrowded. However, that is not to say that it isn't busy because it is. That is only to say that compared to other gyms in Albuquerque that are lower in cost, they do not have the overpacking issue that other gyms do that cause for a gym going experience to become dangerous.

Ive been coming to this gym for over a year because there really isnt a ton of options with variety in the downtown area.. the equipment is old (half the machines are at their breaking point), management obviously doesnt care about its customers since they've cut the free play for those who play volleyball religiously at this location, and the place is filled with teenagers that hog equipment. This place is not worth the price.

Dates of visit: Late June 2021Our hotel, the Andaluz, did not have a gym, so they offered us guest passes to the Midtown Sports and Wellness that was about 10 minutes away. While not super convenient, it did have a wide range of equipment available to us, even with COVID running rampant.I primarily wanted to use the treadmill while my fiance spent a bunch of time in the weight room. All of the equipment was well-kept and there were a lot of machines available for us. I also saw a basketball court and some racquetball courts that were getting used, too. Staff was friendly and efficient, too.Really only losing a star because the locker room smelled really bad, on subsequent visits we just avoided going in there.

I am not a member here, but I did recently go with a friend you had a free day pass for me. I joined her for some hot tub and sauna action. I will say that the the gym is a fairly decent size and I did notice that there was a lot of space between the equipment. There was even and upstairs that also had equipment. Although I did not go up there, what I could see from outside is that is was cardio equipment. As for the hot tub and sauna, I can speak for. The hot tub is outside which is nice, especially at this time of year, cold weather just goes hand and hand with the hot tub. The sauna is inside but it is right next to the door that leads out to the hot tub. Even better, the women's locker room is just steps away from both. Inside the locker room there is a steam room available as well. I didn't use it but I did think that was very nice. Pretty neat place, got me curious on joining. They sure so have a lot of amenities.

One of the most disappointing experiences I've had. I signed up for what I believed to be a 3-month membership, only to discover I've been charged continuously for the past 8 months. While I take responsibility for not monitoring my account, Sports and Wellness failed to inform me about the auto-renewal policy. To make matters worse, the representative I spoke with was extremely rude and even hung up on me. I do not recommend this business--stay away.
