Michael's has been in town for 50 years. It never disappoints. My companions and I decided to try to get in on a Saturday morning and we had luck. The line was short and the service was quick. Even when the line is long, it is worth the wait. When you get to the restaurant, there is typically a line in the covered entrance, but you can bypass the line and go right to the bakery case. The restaurant is known for its sourdough bread, empanadas, and cream puffs. Since we were having breakfast, we looked at the bakery case to be tempted by the sweets. My companions and I were immediately served water and the waitress, it was very friendly, took our order. I ordered the rellenada Christmas style, and my companions both ordered the huevos rancheros One Christmas with a side of tomatoes, the other red chili with hashbrowns. I ordered an apple fritter appetizer because it is one of my favorites. The apple fritter was delicious, big chunks of apple not overly cooked so a little bit dough with a nice sugar glaze. The breakfast items hit the table shortly there after and were at feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds. The pictures do not do the meal justice as the flavor of the green and red chili on my Rellenada with the softly scrambled eggs was absolutely delicious. My companions advised that the huevos rancheros was equally delicious and very filling. The green chili was nicely, hot and flavorful.Be lying to get in Michael's is justified, but the service is quick and friendly. Once you are complete with your meal, you pay at the cashier on your way out. They do a brisk business and the line moves quickly so do not be dissuaded. Any restaurant that has been around for 50 years knows what they're doing. Michael's never disappoints.
