I was hopeful for this cafe l, but soon let down upon ordering. I ordered a veggie sandwich and added bacon l, but the portion and flavor for the price weren't worth it. I felt like I was waiting close to 20 minutes for the sandwich and the size was not what I was expecting. They do have a variety of other items on their menu that hopefully can compensate for it. The pastries they had in the front case did look good but I wasn't able to try one. Unfortunately if I'm back in the area I would probably skip out on trying them again.

I'm not sure why this place does not have many reviews nor good reviews, because this place had some of the best dishes I've had in a really long time!I enjoyed the simplicity of the dishes with the perfect seasoning. My boyfriend and I were very hungry in the morning and ended up ordering 4 dishes between the two of us. We ordered the Omlette, beef stew, breakfast bowl, and the avocado toast.Every single dish was amazing. My boyfriend who usually can't finish a dish managed to wipe his plate clean! The omelette is probably the best I've eaten and the grilled veggies were a beautiful accompaniment. The rice bowl has crispy bits of rice mixed with soft bits which made the dish a textural delight. Literally cannot say enough. I would be happy to make the trek out to Albuquerque again to have this meal!

The absolute saddest avocado toast there ever was. $14 is highway robbery for two slices of toast with a tiny bit of avocado that's partially spoiled. Calling this avocado toast is insulting. Lol

This was the only place open in sawmill market open for food for breakfast. They have the usual American fare and I tried the veggie quiche. It was served with the salad. The quiche took a while to be prepared and took about 15 minutes. It's served with a small side salad. Overall good breakfast for the limited options at saw mill market early in mornign

They have us ham! After telling them to please be careful and not get any meat in our burrito. Look, we messed up the first order because we didn't see the ham as part of the ingredients. Has happened before, our mistake, so we pay again for a re-do but this time ask to not include any meat. Well to our surprise the first half was the only one without meat, ham in this case. So with our guard down we took a bite into the second half of the burrito...ham!. Sad that this had to be a rand and not a complete review. But you can have good food but when the service is this bad it takes all away.Hopefully you can enjoy this place since the ambiance is good and the place looks nice. The server didn't seem to like that I had to order again even though I never asked for a refund or anything. Paid again since it was my mistake at first.

I was looking for a small type of dessert while browsing at the sawmill market. I came to mercantile cafe since the staff seemed super friendly and smiling from far away. Customers feel welcome when they are greeted with a smile. The lady at the back of the counter was very polite and helpful. We decided to go with the lemon meringue and the açaí dessert. I would say that my favorite one was the lemon meringue. The açaí dessert was neatly presented in its container but the flavors and taste was off. I do occasionally my own açaí desserts at home and I would say that this açaí dessert was below average. I don't finish the açaí dessert and it's rare when I don't eat my desserts. They seemed to have other menu items and a wide variety of sandwich options. The place was welcoming and felt like a San which deli. I will be returning for the lemon meringue dessert due to its creamy texture and richness in lemon flavor.

Mercantile Cafe welcomes with beautifully curated ceramics and tableware plus tasty healthful food with kindly and knowledgable staff. :) Special thanks to Connie Carpenter for her generous customer service when we picked out an artisanal bowl to commemorate the day of my mother's memorial. Thank you for making us feel like family on one of our hardest days. Kindness matters. :) Blessings on this business. :)

Rating a low score for customer service. Cashier is not very friendly. No welcome greeting. They were not busy and food sat there a while. The location is super the chicken salad sandwich was decent once I got it. I don't recommend the cupcake. Was stale.
