Menaul School

This is my place. The place that provided me great teachers, great friends, an education and memories of a lifetime.I come back almost every year for homecoming cause that's just what many of us do.

I did not attend Menaul School; nor have any of my children. But, having said that, I still believe that I have an outsiders' perspective of the school's history and a general educational outlook for students attending Menaul School. What makes me even slightly knowledgeable about Menaul School? My viewpoint comes from working in the Menaul Historical Library of the Southwest, which is housed on the Menaul School campus. In that capacity i have met a number of very successful adults who have attended and graduated from Menaul School. I have read the extensive history of the school (opened in 1896). I have watched the students - both local and international, both day students and boarding students. I have read the school's written history and what this educational institution has accomplished in presenting well-educated, interesting and capable adults to communities around the world. We need more schools that are capable of educating well-rounded contributors to our world. Menaul School is a school that does. Menaul School is a co-educational, college preparatory day and boarding school for grades 6-12. If you are looking for a small, but excellent educational opportunity for your children, don't hesitate to put Menaul School on your research list. Hello I went to Menaul School about 5 years ago and This school was torture the food is terrible and the teachers are terrible except one teacher his name is Mr.Lake who was a phenomenal teacher and singer but other than that the students there are disrespectful and mean and delusional and everyone there seems to be faking their personality or don't have a real understanding of how people interact in the real world.

My son graduated from Menaul School and I currently have a daughter in 9th grade. Menaul is a top-notch school with a strong community. My son benefitted from the AP classes, sports programs, music programs, community service and especially from having international classmates. He was very well prepared for a highly ranked out-of-state engineering university. Teachers know their students well and are nurturing while also holding students to high standards. Highly recommend.

My son attended this school. Other than an excellent math teacher, we found the school to be an expensive sub-par experience. I wish someone had warned me. One teacher was fired and only replaced months afterwards. Lazy teachers--despite my meetings with them, I never could get anyone but the math teacher to even let me know if my child failed to turn in his homework or was otherwise having problems. He skipped school one day, and I was not told. Administration was incompetent and uncaring. Awful experience which I wouldn't wish on any child or parent.

My daughter has been at Menaul school since 6th grade and is entering 9th. We have been very impressed with the amount of time her teachers have spent encouraging her interest in learning. The school is a bargain when compared to comparable private schools in the area, and provides quality education in a supportive environment.

My son attended Menaul School from 6th - 12th grade (2008-2016). An excellent student, he is rather shy and introverted, and Menaul School was the greatest thing that ever happened to our family. Academically the school is very solid - rigorous, with a very modern curriculum that emphasizes "the basics", along with critical thinking, problem solving, and character development. It helped him become a good person. He played soccer and then football, and forged some real friendships. The teachers care, their is very little bullying or "cliques" making it perfect for students who may have a hard time fitting into other educational environments. He had some tough teachers, but still managed to earn a full scholarship, with housing, to a top notch college, he is already interning with companies. Not for everyone, take a tour to see what it's all about. It worked well for us, we are kinda hippy people.

All history of the buildings and no substance. Current school is not what is used to be. Big disappointment.
