I got to experience a wimpy sized, overcooked and overpriced burger. Others in my party had equally unimpressive chicken sandwich, prime rib sliders and pizza. No real beer selection to speak of either (AZ microbrews would be nice).Too bad because this is a good location and a decent looking place (inside).Nice waitress but the food left none of us impressed. The bill made me regret the stop and I guess we'll cross our fingers that they either figure it out or new ownership can make something work at this location.

I really liked this place. I went there for lunch. I had a veggie wrap with sweet potato fries which they served with jalepeno ranch dressing. It was really good. I also had truffles (the chocolate type) which were served with sliced strawberries and a strawberry sauce for desert. Yum!There were very few vegetarian choices on the menu which was as I expected since I had read prior reviews on yelp. I still wanted to try it and I'm glad I did. The veggie wrap was really good. My server was really kind and suggested the items that I had. I'll go back!

Pros: Good beer selection on tap; friendly staff; warm environment; good food.Cons: staff seemed a little disjointed.Notes: stopped by after painting and I was barely presentable. We were gladly welcomed and I went straight to their bar. Enjoyed a tall 1554 and watch the ball game with classic rock playing. GM greeted us and the waitress was nice. Burgers were charbroiled and the fish and chips were standard. Would eat there again.

Super service, and the salads are the best in town. What a great place. Our kids love it too.

There's not much that is unique about the Corral. The food seemed very generic, even for small town Pinetop. Being relatively new, I am sure they have some kinks to iron out. The prime rib sliders were mediocre at best. They were super fatty and over cooked but the buns were soft and buttery. I'm sure the menu said the spinach dip was supposed to have chicken in it but no traces of said bird could be found. Also, my memory might be deceiving me but I think the menu said pita chips, not tortilla chips. The girl who took care of us was very nice and made the meal tolerable.

Another great local spot! This year old restaurant has brought service back to the White Mountains, not to mention really good food. I had the patty melt burger which was cooked perfectly and served on yummy marbled rye bread. I've had the pastrami before which was also very tasty. Maverick has never let us down and their consistency is impressive.

We visit the Show Low/Pinetop area quite frequently in the summer months. We were excited to see this new restaurant and decided to give it a try after spending a few hours at the family fun park next door. The decor is very inviting and the restaurant is clean. We were seated quickly and our server came to our table. This is when everything went downhill. Our server had zero personality and it was clear she did not want to be at work. We ordered a french dip, tuna melt and a kids grilled cheese to split. She did not repeat our order to us. Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive. She delivered our food and did not apologize for the wait. The restaurant was not busy and it was around 1:30 PM when we arrived. We did not eat until after 2:00. She brought macaroni and cheese instead of the grilled cheese. We told her that we ordered grilled cheese and she made NO apologies. She did not want to take fault. She only said, "oh. I thought you said macaroni and cheese". She took the mac and cheese and a cook brought out a grilled cheese about 10 min. later. She didn't check on us once after that. Our french dip was served on soggy bun. The tuna melt was OK. The iced tea was good and the children's menu kept my kids occupied during the long wait for our food. We should of found a manager and complained but we didn't. We probably won't be back. They need to train this particular server to put on a happy face and give good customer service. A simple "hello" when she approaced our table would of been nice. I think the experience would of been more pleasant if we would of had a server who actually cared about their job. Maybe I'm biased because I was a server myself for 5 years and a smile really does go a long way. This could be a really good restaurant...the White Mountains really needs good places to eat and MOST of all they need to hire servers with personality, attention to detail and just overall good customer service. This isn't the first place we've been to in the White Mountains where the service was poor. Hopefully they will get their act together because we'd really like to give it another try.

"MOVE OVER CHARLIE CLARK'S, THERE'S A NEW KID IN TOWN.Recently experienced the most delightful dinner and evening at the Maverick Corral Restaurant in Lakeside on White Mountain Blvd. This place is upscale, family-friendly, and pristine clean. Enjoy the beautiful paintings on the walls by well-known local artists such as Steve Taylor, and try to name the big game racks lining the dining room. The dining service was outstanding. Upon arriving, Mike, the General Manager, greeted us and saw to it that our service began immediately. If you're really lucky, Stacie (the assistant manager) will be assigned to you and have the time to visit, and maybe even recount her earlier rodeo days when she was a youngster experiencing the flavor of the Southwest. I'm well-known in the family as the "food snob" - and usually can start complaining as soon as I sit down. This restaurant was a delightful surprise for both me and my husband. Unfortunately for most restaurants, I judge them unduly on their salads. And I always know that taking the chance on a Caesar's salad is risking monumental disappointment most of the time. Not so at the Maverick. The Caesar was freshly prepared and the dressing and shaved Parmesan was outstanding. As Stacie so noted, "every bite you eat is important to us." And right down to the freshly cut scallions on the baked potato - I noticed they follow that philosophy to the letter. We were both hungry for a steak - not too expensive but good. (Tough bill to fill.) We chose the top sirloin, which is usually the lesser of the steak line, and we accept that. Not so this time. Kudos to the chef, it was surprisingly thick, delicious, and cooked to perfection. (Their steaks are hand-cut on the premises.) This is one of those rare chefs who knows what cooked "medium" means - and the flavor was awesome -- with a hearty smoked flavor and aroma from the grill, finished off with a light sauce cooked to perfection. (Don't ruin it with a steak sauce such as A-1. The house sauce is far superior to anything that comes in a bottle.) The meat literally melted in our mouths. We savored every bite. I lived on the Mountain for over 25 years. Throughout the years, if you wanted a good steak, Charlie Clark's was the main game in town. And it has done an excellent job throughout the decades, even if it is fairly pricey for the average man. But you need to be aware that there is a new kid in town, offering an outstanding steak at a much more moderate price.......and in my humble opinion, a much more delicious steak. So, "Move over, Charlie Clark's." There's a new level of food and service on the mountain - for a price that can't be beat. This place gives you another reason to add to your list for coming to the White Mountains. Welcome to the Mountain, Maverick, you've been long awaited for!! Anne Holmstrom

We have been going to the Mavrick since they opened and I have never been so disapointed in the service as I was yesterday 9-2-12. Our waitress didn't deliver our food, she never came back to ask if we needed anything, she didn't bring us our bill, we never had our drinks refilled. This was the first time I have never left a tip.Kim M.

We went here for their highly-advertised salad bar - since I am on a diet, salad is allowed, etc. Of course, after being seated and brought drinks, they tell us "Oh, no salad bar on Sunday." I explained my needs - but the wait staff made no suggestions or offered any alternatives. So - my mother ordered a sandwich - and asked for a side of vegetables INSTEAD of fries so that I would have something to eat. They bring a dish of undercooked/mostly-raw veggies and have the nerve to charge $2.99 for the privilege. We will NEVER eat there again.
