I'm not too familiar with Peruvian food, but someone highly recommended Mati, a newish restaurant off San Pedro, across from the fair grounds.I ordered the Chicha Morada which is a purple corn drink made with pineapple, green apple, and cinnamon. I wish I was sipping on some right now! For my appetizer, I ordered the Papa a la Huancaina which comes with boiled yellow potatoes topped with an Aji Amarillo cream sauce. And then for my main dish I ordered the Lomo Saltado which comes with marinated strips of sirloin, red onions, and tomato, served with rice and french fries. Everything was absolutely delicious! I want to go back and eventually make my way through the entire menu. The customer service was great. My server walked me through the menu since I wasn't familiar with any of the dishes. He was a great help and I'm thankfully for his recommendations!

Delicious authentic Peruvian food in odd location with great service and traditional offerings. Having enjoyed Peruvian food elsewhere and happy to see a new place pop-up after another one had closed down a couple years ago, we made time to come try it out.The atmosphere isn't great and it's in an odd location. It was cold inside since it was below freezing outside, but the service was wonderful and the food was pretty good. We tried a few traditional dishes and enjoyed them enough to recommend the place to our friends and plan to bring them there to enjoy it as well.

I hadn't had Peruvian food in years so I really wanted to try Mati. I finally got around to it today. My roommate and I came by for dinner. They were welcoming and walked my roommate (who had never had Peruvian food) through the menu, and brought us a dish of seasoned dried corn to try. I got the chicha morada, which arrived in a large sturdy goblet and tasted great. We shared a serving of papa a la huancaina and an order of lomo saltado and both were spectacular. We brought an order of fried plantains to a friend who also enjoyed them. I'll definitely need to come back to try their aji de gallina!

The owner was absolutely delightful! And the food did not disappoint. We came because it is located in the neighborhood we grew up on and we also love trying new places. If you love to try new food and have or have not had Peruvian food you better try this place. It has all the traditional tastes of Peru and the love behind the food too. We will be back soon.

I think for Albuquerque, this Peruvian spot is pretty decent. I got the Peruvian steak with fries and the flavors were alright. The chicken soup was also not bad. Both dishes had good flavors. Service was super friendly. I would maybe say the food took a little long considering I was the only person in the restaurant at time.

The food was amazing. Each bite I took I kept saying how good and fresh everything tasted. I definitely will be back with friends! The waiter, who I believe was the owner, was very kind and created such a positive experience for my family. In the background they played Peruvian music which really set the tone, even my one year old was dancing and smiling to it.

Wonderful tasting Peruvian food. With Peruvian food, it's all about the sauces. The owner gave me the aji verde, aji criollo and aji Huaicaina. All sauces were delicious along with the food. A must try when in ABQ.

This was the first time I had Peruvian Cuisine and I was pleasantly surprised. The food tasted incredible and was very filling. The service was smooth and very friendly. The restaurant itself was very clean, and was playing fitting music in the background for our lunch. I can definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to try Peruvian Cuisine while in Albuquerque!
