Maple Street Dance Space

"Maple Street Dance Space now located in Nob Hill! Find us dancing, shimmying, drumming, singing, and celebrating with two large studios at 3215 Central Ave NE" This is one of ABQ's most diverse dance studios...they definitely have a world groove spin...you can take african dance, samba, middle eastern belly dance, and even jazz and ballet! Actually they are always adding awesome new classes to the schedule. I teach contemporary dance on Saturdays at 11am. I have taken many other classes as well, for several years, and LOVE this studio!! It is welcoming to all, offers a wide variety of styles and is a very supportive environment.

Such a cool bright space with nice teachers. There are two entrances to the studio a front and back, the back is located in the ally(so really 2 studios). I started taking Belly Dance Tribal level 1. Class costs are reasonable and they have a diverse selection of choices. They do have some children's classes, but this studio is generally geared more to adults. I was a dancer and figure skater for 10 years and am finally getting back into movement, besides yoga and working out. I need to at least initially start slow, and I feel the teachers here are really good at breaking the instruction and movement isolations down. I think anyone would feel comfortable learning here- from novice to master. They also have some fitness classes. After my body gets used to one class, I think I am going to start taking the burlesque cabaret class too.

I go to the Naughty Cabaret dance class with Deidre on Thursdays. I have so much fun. I have no previous dance experience so I can't really keep up but the instructor is so cool that I have fun anyway. The location of the space is great because there are so many places to walk to after class to get a drink. And classes are really affordable. I love this place.

Maple Street is very nice place where you can dance and enjoy yourself. My daughter used to dance there with her African dance team it was quite off the scale.

Informal fun and friendly. Great way to release tension and listen to some great music

Maple Street Dance Space on Central is more than a group of classes. It is a community that welcomes people of all ages to dance and play together. Romy is a bright and nurturing host and the family of dance and drum teachers and students thrives together in her gorgeous space.

I only go to Maple Street for their latin socials. It is a great venue and always well kept. If you are into the Salsa scene, check them out on Friday and Sunday nights.

This place is pure magic. Romy has created a wonderful environment where people of all ages, fitness levels and skill can experience the joy of dance. The classes are technically very correct and educational but not intimidating or pretentious. Everyone here is so welcoming and fun.
