Macy's Towing

Fabulous experience with this company. Cannot speak to cost, as the tow was covered by my insurance. But I sure was grateful when Andrés showed up to tow my flat tired car off the side of I-40 with 18 wheelers whizzing by 3 feet away. Not only did he promptly and competently change the flat in a local parking lot, but because I was curious he narrated every step with clear instructions with details like, this is the part you put the jack under, and, you tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern. I felt both taken care of and liberated by this interaction. Raisinga glass of wine in appreciation of Andrés and Macy's Towing this evening.

Macy's did right by me. I called around for a quote for a 20 mile tow. Macys gave me the best quote. In the past, I used another tow company for this particular trip by scheduling the tow, Macy's didn't seem to offer a schedule option but after I explained the circumstances, Macy's understood and was prompt, professional and super fast. Got my car to it's destination w/out any problem and when I needed the job done. Highly recommend.

My pickup broke down in town on a Thursday afternoon. About 10 other companies were unavailable. Macy's got it done in an hour. Every tow is expensive, so that's the only reason for 4 stars and not 5.

tl;dr - they can be pretty good, but they're not consistent about it. The first couple of times I used these folks, I was pretty pleased - they were there when they said they'd be, and the prices were reasonable. This morning was a different story. :/I needed a tow to arrive at the garage by 11:00, so I arranged with Macy's to arrive at my place at 10:00, figuring that'd be plenty of leeway; I'd rather be a bit early than a bit late, anyway. The driver called me at 10:05 to tell me he was just dropping off a car, and that he'd be there shortly. 40 minutes later, just as I was ready to call a different towing company, he arrived. He did a fair job of the tow itself, but I was 15 minutes late for my appointment because Macy's arrived 45 minutes later than they'd promised. The previous tow I'd gotten from them was 3/4 of the way across town - from Carlisle to Tramway, and ran a bit high, but not outrageous at $75. This morning, about half that distance (From Tramway to San Pedro), they hit me for $65 - decidedly on the high end, fee-wise. On time, but a bit high, I could endure. 45 minutes late but with a good price, I'd find tolerable. 45 minutes late and paying 40% more than I'd expected, and I'll be shopping around for a different towing service if I need one again.

I recently had some heavy car troubles and Macy's Towing was one of the few companies in the area operating on a Saturday. They were pretty slammed that day, but I was able to make an appointment for the exact time I wanted. Before I could even ask, they gave me a quote of a flat fee, which was awesome - no surprise surcharges. Everything throughout the whole experience went smoothly. They called me 30 minutes prior to double check on my appointment time and pickup location. They arrived on time and got me to my maintenance appointment on time as well. Also, when we arrived they waited for me to go in and check to make sure I would be able to get help and wouldn't need to tow my car some place else. Fantastic and friendly service all around. I highly recommend these guys! One last thing: they do have a card reader for credit cards, but that charges a couple dollars on tax, so pay in cash if you have it.

Professional, friendly, on time, and gets my vehicles from point A to point B safely. What more can you ask for from a towing company?

Small family owned business who provided a great experience; given the unfortunate circumstances as to why they had to be called out. George was the gentlemen who helped us tonight, very nice, quick and accommodating. This is the type of local business I like to give my business to! Would definitely recommend to my family and friends!

My son's Jeep broke down on the freeway, and we called Macy's Towing for help. They quickly dispatched Brian, who arrived within 25 minutes. He was incredibly friendly, efficient, and professional. Price was reasonable. Highly impressed with the service!

the driver was very friendly & on time about the tow. but their dispatch charged me $90 cash to take my rolling car seven miles home. you can get the same quality tow for $30 less almost anywhere in albuquerque.

My vehicle was inoperable and needed to be towed to my mechanic. I called a couple other places for a tow on Super Bowl Sunday. Macy's showed up on time, when they said they would. In Albuquerque, when a business answers the phone, shows up on time, is courteous and professional, it's rare. They were very careful with the vehicle, loaded it gently and promptly delivered it to my mechanic. I highly recommend them if you need a tow in the local area.
