Mac's Steak in the Rough

Lunch was delicious! Parked the car and enjoyed our lunch. This was so fresh and not fasted food. My wife and I ordered two green Chile burgers with fries and a coke. The last couple of years it seems like they have less workers which means it takes time for your order. I would give this a full five stars but the service is very inconsistent.

Stop here for lunch. It's a pretty cool little place. You can order at the box or go inside . I have the steak fingers with Cole slaw and onion rings. It was very good and I would definitely try again

We haven't been here in ages and it was just as good as I remember it as a kid. We used to always drive in, but today we went inside. The restaurant was very clean (cleaner than I remember the old location on San Mateo being). The ladies working were friendly and mentioned drinks are half off for happy hour. I got a cherry lemonade which was perfectly tart and not the crap you get from the soft drink dispensers.I ordered a steak combo. It was piping hot and the meat was tender. It's a lot of food for the price and I didn't even finish the gravy or coleslaw. The fries were crispy and appropriately salted. It sounds from the reviews that the owner has taken the feedback into consideration and made positive changes. I'll be back next time I'm in Abq!

We ordered burgers and steak fingers and shakes and let me tell you it's great! Never tried it before but I love it and definitely recommend it. Easy to get to off the freeway. It's good and I look forward to trying more of their menu items.

Being the first time I'd ever been to Mac's I pulled into one the stalls and drooling as I perused the menu. By the time I'd made an absolute decision I reached over for the call button. Boy was happy when they promptly answered and took my order. I waited about 10 minutes before a young woman appeared by my car. She came up to my window started handing me one of the drinks. Then as she looked at the ticket she appeared confused and asked me for the drink back. She said she thought she printed the wrong ticket. I said "oh" as I handed the drink back. By then I was even more hungry than I was when I'd ordered my food. I continued to wait for the woman to come back with my order. I played with my phone in the car for awhile to look up at the time and realized another 10 minutes had passed and I had still not gotten my order. I was becoming upset. I waited about 3 more minutes before just driving off. I was so upset they never came with my food. Glad I didn't already pay for it or I'd be even more upset. Sad to say they left such a poor impression on me that I will probably not returning.

Prices have gone too high they are good but overpriced! Many people I know agree with you family'

After 55 years of faithfully eating at Mac's I am done. Yes their food is still very good and the service was outstanding. But the prices are absolutely out of sight. I bought the original rough, substituted onion rings for the fries added a hot sauce and small root beer. The bill was $20 even. Don't even try to convince me your costs have gone up that much. I'm also a business owner and know what's happening in the market.

Super rude! First time and LAST TIME coming here. I told them I wanted a combo and the lady on the intercom stated that the combo only comes with fries or a drink! Ummm no if your menu states "AND" (meaning both) I should be getting my fries and a drink. Doesn't say "OR" meaning one or the other! Whoever worked 1/30/25 @12:40. Change your attitude because one I haven't even left the stall and two your never brought me my receipt so how could I show you want I purchase and help me and state "I can't do anything without a receipt" when I told her multiple times you didn't bring me my receipt. Plus my burger only had 5 pieces of shredded lettuce and one small tomato, never have I seen such a sad burger before, I guess there's a first for everything don't waste your time here! Very rude and food was very poor!

steak fingers had absolutely no breadding on them!!! very dissatisfied. Paid over 30$ for something i been craving and its trash

The food is typically good, yet the service never is. Everytime I have been here the server using the intercom is completely rude and disrespectful whenever the customers are unable to hear. When I tell them I can't understand, I am immediately yelled back at with what they were trying to say. I heard them yell at the car next to me whenever they hadn't immediately answered the server on the intercom. When they messed up my order the server on the intercom yelled at us saying it was our fault that they couldn't hear properly, then proceeded to walk outside and give an attitude when I tried to correct my order. I like this place for its food yet I have continued to dislike the staff and hope they make changes to how staff interacts on the intercom.
