Luigi's Restaurant & Pizzeria

Simple, consistent and delicious. I'd argue it's one of the better pies in town too. Why I waited so long to try this place...shame on me...shame shame shame ;). Enjoy.

So after many years of living in New Mexico (my whole life) I finally made plans to try Luigi's. The location is huge and a great location for company or team meals. Lots of seating with a buffet section in between (no more of that since Covid) but two options of soup are available.I ordered a glass of red wine it had been a long week. I was telling the wait staff I had never been before. The gentleman in the table next to me recommended the veal parmigiana said no one in town has it and it fabulous. I didn't order that though.I will say to start that the service was great and the place was super clean and the ambiance was right for the location. Prices appeared reasonable and Tina, mother of Luigi came and spoke to me. A beautiful Italian woman who helps make everything from scratch and mentioned they had been there for 27 years and that it was a steakhouse before that.They brought out bread and olive oil with spices. Maybe I'm not familiar with what good Italian olive oil taste like but it tasted kinda odd, it probably needed salt but I didn't add it and pretty settled putting the garlic butter that came with the bread on it. Bread also lacked salt but again maybe this is how it should be and I still ate it.I ordered a chicken dish with creamy mushroom sauce which came with a side of pasta and soup or salad. I was able to taste the soup prior while I waited for a friend to arrive and sorry didn't take a picture of the chicken. I thought it also lacked seasoning, don't get me wrong, it was good and I ate most of it till I was full. I think I'll return and order something different and hope to update this review.

The food needs a step up. Especially the spaghetti and meatballs I felt I like I went to dollar tree and got the cheap meatballs, pasta and the tin can flavored spaghetti sauce no flavor. Those meatballs were from bag. The soup was Campbells. Totally hospital food

So we just moved back into the neighborhood and have been discovering some local restaurants. We enjoy a nice Italian meal with all the extras. Luigi's has by far the best wait staff! Friendly and they remember you after a couple visits. I have tried a few different dishes on our visits. From Manicotti, chicken piccata and ravioli. They are all good but the ravioli is my favorite. Just the right amount of sauce over stuffed cheese pillows. My husband always orders the spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. He loves it and finds that it is always consistent. Needless to say, we have been in a few times and always love sitting in a booth and just enjoying conversation. The restaurant is simple and clean with really cute chandaleirs hanging from the ceiling. I love the size of the wine glasses and often order the chianti with my meal. The garden salad is simple but great alone as my husband likes it or with Italian dressing. You also get a few slices of bread and soft butter. All pair well with your main course! It is a regular stop of ours and we have not been disappointed. We feel welcome in the neighborhood!

This is authentic Italian with a New Mexico kick! Get your fill of fine Italian dinning along with added New Mexico green chilie, a deep fried pizza or your favorite seafood pasta dish. This place has a lot of a little bit of everything! Service was good and food was hot out the oven and served quickly to our table. You gotta try Luigi's, it's a must!

Excellent Italian food with your choice of homemade Pasta. The spices are superlative and service good. I love their Meat Lasagna and Luigi's Special Pizza, hand tossed. If you want authentic traditional Italian, then this is the place! Family is from New Jersey

Food is very good. We eat here for Christmas and in June. I tried their pizza the last time which was better than I thought it would be.

I don't recommend the chicken Florentine or minestrone soup. The Florentine sauce was tasty but the chicken - horrible. The term "rubber chicken" would be an apt description. It was the toughest, most rubbery, least tasty I've ever had. Definitely overcooked. It was a slice, about 1/2 inch thick, not a whole breast. I ate less than half of it. Minestrone soup was watery. Service was prompt, no complaints there except no compensation for the bad chicken. I won't be back except maybe to order a pizza which I hear is very good.

Gets pasta from Walmart Great value brand, lasagna is fresh. Doesn't date salad dressings, doesn't cover raw chicken in the walk in. Manager loves to drink on the job! Everything is frozen, even the dessertsWill hold paychecks, Will just leave you in the dark after you get diagnosed with a medical condition, then cleared to work, then get told to retrieve your legal alcohol license, you then do so just for management to not let you for no reason! 0/10 place to eat, work for, even spend your money on!
