Lucky Thirteen's Barber Studio

I have been looking for a barber shop as I'm done with the smell of the acrylic nails that are done at the place I have been going. I thought a barber shop would not do nails so I could avoid the smell.I went to this place because it got many good ratings here on Yelp and I have to say they gave me a really superior haircut but have you ever just known a place is not for you? This place is young, urban and hip. All the barbers were reclined in their chairs playing games on their phones, all were tattooed and joking around with each other. The place felt like a club house. Cursing was ever present even though one of the staff had their very young daughter in the shop.I'm really glad this place is here for the young, the modern and the hip but I felt like Old Spice in a room full of Axe Body Spray. Great haircuts just not a good fit for me.

Fantastic haircut with truly individual attention. Jesse was great and maintains a wonderful shop. In these times of Covid, his setup is what you hope everyone is doing. As a heads up, be prepared to make appointments well in advance.

Wow, it's been almost a year since I discovered Alex (aka. Alex van Gogh) and Lucky Thirteen's Barber Studio. I've kept my promise and went back and back and back and back. I first returned in Sept. My pink and purple were fading and I decided that for the fall I should go red! I met with Alex and showed and let her what I was looking for and she found the perfect red for me. And just like that I became a ginger. I loved the color and brightness of my hair. And received lots of compliments on it. So as winter neared my red began to disappear. I texted her my new idea of having candy cane hair, the same color from the fall with blonde highlights. Alex again worked her magic and poof I had hair that was bright and fun. I loved my Candy Cane Hair!Spring came around and again my hair color was fading. I text Alex and and stressed I wanted more highlights to lighten my hair for spring. Once again she delivered exactly what I wanted. She has the amazing gift with hair and hair color. Now summer is here and once again my color has faded. But this time time I saw the beauty of the fade and wanted to live out a childhood dream of having Jem's pink hair. But I also wanted to add some blue for contrast. And what Alex did took my breath away. She not only added pink and blue, but was able to fade in colors to have add some purple and green. And kept the awesome copper tone I had from the red. It turned out better than I expected, and I had high expectations. Alex is a superior artist when it comes to hair color and style. Each time it took around three hours. I couldn't ask for a better place to spend the that time. Staff and costumers are always friendly and made it a pleasant place to hang out. The staff enjoys talking and joking with one another and clearly are having a good time! Most of the customers left happy and are repeat costumers. Thanks, Alex and Lucky Thirteen for making my hair an adventure!

Best shop in ABQ. Jesse never disappoints when he's cutting your hair. Always leave feeing and looking good. Great atmosphere and great company.

Jesse and his team of barbers welcome all comers and do a great detail haircut and in my case mustache trim. Come give them a try. Free wifi while you wait

Went in asked for a skin fade with a trim on top walked out with buzz cut with an entire strip missed in the back going to a wedding tomorrow at least my head won't be hot.

Such a great atmosphere and always provides a clean cut. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a Professional haircut. These guys gotchu covered!

Finally, a barber in Albuquerque that recognizes that beards, mustaches (and any facial hair, really) are part of a damn haircut. Without me asking, Dominic began applying shaving cream to my face and neck and whipped out the straight razor and I wanted to throw my arms up in praise to the Lord. But beyond just doing what EVERY EFFING BARBER SHOULD DO, Dominic gave a good haircut and demonstrated that he knew what he was doing. He asked what I wanted and I said a taper and a fade and he simply understood, NO HESITATION, NO 21 QUESTIONS. And then he proceeded to hook it up. The cut was on point, the fade was was done with care to make sure my head didn't look like a terrace in the Chinese countryside and the shape-up (another oft-overlooked practice in Burque) was done with precision.Then came the damn hot shave. The deal-sealer. I'll be back here for all my cuts now because dude earned my faith. Plus, it's right next to Clark's Pet Store and Sprouts, two other places I enjoy, so I'll be a regular.

They really need to say that they aren't doing walk-ins. I just drove out here. There was no one in front of me one guy in the chair and the barber told me to come back Saturday. They obviously don't need the business that badly I will not be returning

Never going back to this barber shop. Went there for a good haircut and ended up being disappointed with the whole visit.
