I have gone to many providers here and the urgent care. They are usually very fast, especially the urgent care. The doctors are nice, but the primary doctors seemto have a high turnover rate. I have had 2 primary doctors leave within a year.

I got Covid. Have been trying to get help from them and their response team sucks. It takes 4 hours to get a call back, and when they do it is not much of a help. They gave me a wrong number to urgen care, now it is going to take the next day for a call back. I am so disappointed. They used to be so good. I am changing facilities. I just hope I don't end up in the hospital because of their inabilities to take care of patients. I am 79 years old

So this is our second attempt to work with the staff at this clinic. The check in personnel are inept and rude. The doctors are unable to actually practice medicine because of the horrific bureaucracy.

I love Southwest Medical Associates. I can make an appointment with all of my doctors and they're all in the same building! Fabulous! I really enjoy Dr. Gross, as I've been seeing him for almost my whole life, I even called him an asshole once to his wife when he gave me a shot when I was little. He's a great person who genuinely cares about his patients and their health. Plus, he has comics plastered all over his exam rooms so you can read all the funnies before getting to the not so funny parts. The only bad experience I've had is with Dr. Sanchez. I had strep, obviously, and she only did a rapid test instead of a blood test. Because of this I was running around with strep for close to three months. That's not good in anyones book. When I got an emergency appointment with another doctor I was prescribed antibiotics that I was allergic to, unknown to me, and broke out in a rash. I got another emergency appointment with Sanchez to see what was going on. She told me it was nothing and that I was fine, even though, the rash had taken up almost half of my body by that point in time. Instead of looking at my problem she wanted to have a conversation about the birth control I was on. I thanked her but went on my way as she was neither my primary nor my lady doctor. Finally, the rash took up my whole body including my face and was painful and itchy. I got yet another emergency appointment with Dr. Gross and when the nurse, Tabitha, walked in she knew what was going on immediately. Allergic reaction to my antibiotics. Dr. Gross came in and prescribed me with a new antibiotic and a steroid to clear up my allergic reaction. He was appalled that Dr. Sanchez hadn't ordered a blood test after looking at my still diseased tonsils which I dealt with for 3 months and even more appalled she couldn't recognize an allergic reaction.Basically, I've had amazing experiences with all of the doctors at Southwest Medical except for Sanchez.

I have been a patient for 20+ years, and am on my 3rd primary care doctor. I really like Angela Sanchez. I have been seeing Dr. Sanchez for a little under a year since Dr. Combs retired. I like the extended hours and the fact that you can usually see a doctor that day if you really need to be seen.I have had several problems with Dr. Gross. It took me many phone calls and 3 weeks to get him to straighten out a problem with my husband's prescription. I called in March to get my husband a physical and they are scheduling into September with Dr. Gross. My husband used to see Dr. Jacobi and we really like him and how responsive he was. Now, I have called 3 days in a row to discuss my son's problem. Dr. Gross ordered an ultrasound and referred to a specialist. The specialist read the ultrasound report and said the problem wasn't in thier specialty. So, I called and left a message to see if we needed a different test or a new referral to a different specialst. It has been 3 days and 3 phone calls and no response. I am trying to get this taken care of this summer before this kid moves away for college.

Worst communication and service ever. First called after my ortho doc wanted an EMG of my hand and arm. They faxed over paperwork. First call and Irene could not find me in system and apparently did not realize there were other branches. Called my doctors office back and they rechecked and gave me a new number. Called and registered and set up an appt for a month later. Called today to reaffirm my time for appt for tomorrow. Had my name and no appt. Seems Dr. canceled all appts for tomorrow and no one called me to tell me, then Dr. decided to come in for appts. tomorrow. Wait is now over a month away again. Asked Linda who was telling me all this "how do you stay in business and her respnse was, "I don't know".

I read the reviews on southwest medical. They were all negative. That has not been my experience at all. The staff has always been friendly and the last time I needed to see my doctor he squeezed me into the schedule. It was short notice so I really appreciated that. My advice is to try them for yourself.

After my initial visit to this office in mid-2013, I scheduled a yearly wellness visit for October for a complete physical. I was pleased with the doctor and had no impression of the scheduling receptionists. The office called me and cancelled the October appointment because they said that the doctor was overbooked. They re-scheduled for December. Again, I received a call a few days before the appointment and was told it had to be cancelled because the doctor was overbooked. When I asked why this was happening, I was told that the new computer system would only allow a maximum number of appointments per day, and some had to be cancelled. The receptionist re-scheduled me for March, and she thanked me for my understanding, only to call me in January to cancel it again and re-schedule for July! In the meantime, I did secure a January appointment since I had been ill, and I was able to get the appointment that someone had cancelled out. At that appointment, the doctor was upset that I had been put off and told the nurse to get me in a.s.a.p. for my yearly physical. About a week later, I received a call form the doctor's nurse for two reasons: 1. a response to my call to the office a week earlier to find out the results of my January 2014 lab work and 2. the nurse wanted to let me know that I could schedule a wellness visit for the following week. The receptionist confirmed this with the doctor's nurse and she gave me an appointment in February 2014. When I showed up for the appointment, 20 minutes early, the receptionist told me I didn't have one! The only appointment that showed up was for July (and remember that this was from October to December to March and to July). I told her that it had been changed to February, and their office had called me to do that. After some checking, she said that an appointment later in February was available, but there was no appointment scheduled for me for today. I, of course, accepted the later February appointment and am hoping that they won't cancel me out again or tell me I'm not in the system for that day. Again, the receptionist blamed the computer system for the cancellations but had no explanation for why my current appointment did not register in the system. Overall, you'll be lucky if you can get a bonafide appointment with this office and receive the results of your lab work in a timely fashion. My experience here has been a mixture of liking my doctor (and scheduling issues), but I can rarely get to see her. What good is it if the downstairs office makes the determination of who gets bumped from the system and who gets the pass to go to see the doctor?
