This was the stop we used to ride the Railrunner to Santa Fe.We took the early train. It seems pretty straight forward and a fairly clean and well maintained location. If you are new to using it during usual commuting hours....trust the crowd.Oh, they're forming lines? Must be where the doors stop. Get in line too, don't be a dick and push to the front or try and butt in line. There will be plenty of seats. The ride to Santa Fe was calm and easy. We bought our day tickets online the night before and just showed them to the person coming through to check them. Easy as pie.

The Los Ranchos train station is large, with lots of parking. Many State employees leave the vehicles here when they commute to Santa Fe. The ABQ Ride bus #251 brings people here to catch the train. So, this is really an ideal location for commuters to Santa Fe for work or pleasure.

We use this station for the kiss and ride option. I have not yet had to park here. The customers that do seem to be okay with it. The 251 bus stops here. That bus goes to Rio Rancho (just for your information). People also bike to and from here, so there are a few bike lockers. The people who board and exit here are nice, so they make up for the rush times; it does get "busy" there. I see many business people and students that use this stop. Everyone seems professional, so I'm not sure why there is a need for security. Perhaps because there is a sign there that says the department will not be accountable for any theft or damages? The security guard there has not smiled, so I'm going to try to do something that will make him smile. Perhaps a smile and wave? Or, during the holidays I can bring him a present. But, what? Food?

My family has taken the train twice round trip from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. I like the convenience. Our children rode free and adult tickets were $9.00 (round-tip) each. They offer students discounts as well. A few tips: you must arrive on time.Read the schedule closely. You can bring bikes and strollers. The upper level has the best view. There are crazy/drunk people on the train. The conductors (?) are friendly. The Wifi is finicky. It's not filthy, but its not all that clean either. They will check your ticket eventually. You get a discounted price if you buy your ticket online. The first time we rode, I liked that my family was able to sit in seats that had a table. I could see the potential to play a card game. We enjoyed the views from the upper deck. Overall it was relaxing. We got dropped off near second street brewery and walked all around. There were restaurants, shops, and a big park. We learned the hard way that it is important to read the schedule. The last stop is Downtown; we parked at Rio Bravo and had to call for a ride home. The second time we took the train we decided to start at the Los Ranchos location. We brought our bikes and a jogging stroller. The conductor (?) helped my husband take the bikes to an open cart, no problem. This time we went to the 599 location and used our bikes to make the short trek to Santa Fe Brewery. Personally, I think I'll take the train any time we want to go to Santa Fe. It is hassle free. You are able to spend the day there (some might say you are stuck there). For the price, I like that we can go, have a few drinks, take in the sights and not worry about having to drive home.

I ride the rail runner most days during the week because I like in Albuquerque and work in Santa Fe. At least once a week there are delays returning home, many times it is because there another train coming heading north as we're heading south. What makes this situation ridiculous is that I ride the express train. They have a lot of nerve calling the train express when we're delayed, stopped on the tracks waiting for a more important train to pass. Most delays last about 15 minutes. Once a month we're gifted with 45 minute delays. Sadly this is the only public transportation option. Limited number of times are offered as well. Yes we're rolling now. It's clear those running this train have little interest in improving what's offered, by the snarky comments popping up as I type. Customer service is a myth in New Mexico.
