Stuffed sopapilla is way smaller now. The beans and rice were delicious.

We arrived 45 minutes before closing time after doing the evening balloon fiesta and we were treated with excellent service. Received and provided with table, served in a timely manner, explained specials and their crowd favorites without rushing m. He explained it like it's in the middle of the afternoon considering that they will be closing soon.We were hungry so, I didn't get a chance to take photos but the food was great but kudos to the service staff.

The first basket of chips and salsa were so tasty. The 2nd basket the chips tasted weird. Not like old oil just weird. The stuffed sopapilla portion is so small now. It was good though. The beans were amazing but also small portioned. Our waitress totally botched one of my friend's order. No offer to give a discount or real apology. As we were walking out the gentleman whom I assume was the manager didn't even acknowledge us or ask how our experience was. There are for too many better places to eat for as much money or less so I won't be returning to this location.

The food delicious! The service is amazing as well. I'll definitely be back. The carna asada was cooked perfectly and the sopaipillas were some of my favorite. They also had a mariachi band that sang for our table.

Went here two days in a row and it's awesome. First time we ate in and had some margaritas (yum!) and tonight I did take out. Go visit Samuel in the takeout area he's super friendly. I love the red chilie the best, and that sopapilla and the end is top notch. The salsa is still the same as it was decades ago when I was a student at UNM and ate at the one on Lomas. Make sure you hit this place when you're in town!

There was no wait. I ordered the ground beef chimichanga. The red chili had no flavor. The green chile was just okay. The chips and salsa were amazing. The beans and rice were good. They were about 25% occupied. The ground beef tasted like it was left over it had that taste to it that you know it was made the day or two before. Chimichanga plate beans and rice. One beer, for lunch $35.

End of the week, work is done so time to hit up happy hour. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I was seated, had a menu, brought water and chips with salsa in less than 5 minutes. It is nice and quiet here, thank you. Good place to just get away for some food. You can see the mountains from the windows and the fresh snow. The staff checks on you and makes sure you have what you need and that the food meets my expectations. Was in the mood for enchiladas on blue corn. Ground beef and egg over easy! Oh and RED!!Came with rice and beans. Like that it is correct amount of chili. Some places put so much chili you can't taste the food. Chili is not hot on heat scale mild but has a sweet taste to it you don't get anywhere else. I thought the serving size was just right but turns out I could not finish it all. They play music, Mariachi, I think that's the name. You can hear the music from any location and it is great! I think just come to listen and eat would be great! I had a great experience here. I will be back as the atmosphere is great, staff are attentive, food hits the spot.

We arrived and were told that for a party of 3 it would be a 20 minute wait. After 20 minutes they sat another party of three, and after that they sat a party of 7 both having arrived at the restaurant after us. My husband went to the host stand and found out they discarded the note that had our party on it and forgot about us. The manager was called, and they quickly cleaned a table in the bar. No other measures were taken to repair this slight against us. Unfortunately, we were there to see our friend's mariachi group play, and they were done by the time we were seated. They do not have Splenda, my preferred sweetener. So no tea for me. While waiting for our food we noticed that the bar is clearly the place where dirty dishes go to linger, not die because they were there for the hour and a half that we were there (see photo). They served the food, and we had to wait again for silverware, easily three minutes. The server walked by at least once, before someone else brought the silverware. The nachos were supposed to have beef, but they forgot that too. The carnitas were dry, and I asked for more chile. We waited 15 minutes for the chile, and had to ask for drink refills twice. My husband asked for no garnish, and it was clear that someone brushed that off the plate before it was presented, as there were lettuce leaves and tomato chunks remaining on the plate. When we were almost done eating the beef for the nachos finally arrived on the table. We had to remind the server that we should have sopapillas, and waited another 10 minutes for those. When the check came they had charged us twice for the nachos. After the ticket was "corrected " we were charged for the beef which we were told would be comped due to the tardy arrival. We were later told that it was this server's first day. She was not being shadowed. We never saw or spoke to the manager again. If you are an Albuquerque westsider, and don't have a Sunday to waste in a restaurant save yourself the time and frustration and go to Tomasita's.

I used to go to the Los Cuates on Lina's when I lived in Albuquerque in the 90's. Any time I visit; it's one of my favorite places. My husband and I tried this location after arriving late into town. Our server (Chris?) was so friendly and welcoming even though we came an hour before close. After not being to Albuquerque for years, I'm happy to say the food is still amazing. We had a cup of green Chile stew, my husband had the DeMarcus combo and I had the Carne Adovada plate. All of it absolutely delicious! Oh, and the blackberry lime margarita.. Yum!

What is with Los Cuates not having Hostesses or anyone up front to greet you. I've tried the Menaul and Coors location and both places different days I stood waiting for 15 minutes never seeing anyone or being spoken to. I guess I'll just stick to the Washington location.

The food was not that good. The salsa was nasty and tasted a bit like catsup! Nothing impressive here.
