Lofts At Albuquerque High

I'm just about to move out after 1 year because of a new job opportunity, but if I were staying in Albuquerque, I'd probably live here for a few more years.Great reasonable price downtown in the heart of Albuquerque. The lofts are absolutely beautiful and keep the integrity of the "Old High School Feel" it used to be. The high ceilings make your room seem bigger than it actually is. Kitchen is either an island or a long connected piece to the wall.I lived facing Broadway and Central, two of the busiest streets, and had never experienced any loud noises. Walls are thick, can never hear the neighbors.Management is great. Lara responds quickly and has helped me replace keys or move out early. Both Charles and Stephanie are on the ground maintenance and do a great job cleaning the surrounding are and keeping things in check. I've never had a problem with the common spaces where the fountain and grill is.I never had bugs, ants, flies, nothing. No leaks, nothing was ever broken, only thing that came close was rust in the bathtub but that's normal. Good internet options, electricity options. Parking is $40 a month extra in their garage. Never had a problem with crime, always felt safe. Only negatives are:- Doesn't come with a ladder- My specific loft had only one opening, so I couldn't really use itAny young working professional should live here in a studio or a 1BR. 5/5 Stars.

These are cool lofts as the building is an old school. Parking is street area. The nice thing is that there are services within walking distance of the lofts. It is a great area of town to live.

It's a shared space between owners of condos and renters. The owners constantly complain about everything, and Lara, the awful woman who runs the place, always takes the owner's side. If you are going to be louder than a mouse, you will get a noise complaint. I got a complaint for watching TV, alone, with the volume barely audible, at 9:10PM one time. Dust is a huge problem, and by the time you move out, your stuff will be caked in it.

The lofts are excellent. After a normal 8-5 day at my job, coming home to this loft was an amazing experience. However, the management is rough. Not sticklers for rules (I appreciate a well-ordered, quiet, clean locale to live within), rather, Mean. Rob is a good guy with strong business savvy, but his right-hand man, Lara, is a painful individual to have to live around. I've seen her unnecessarily mock and belittle residents. Men mostly. I confronted this one time and she just smirked and walked away. Also banging on doors and showing up unannounced. I believe that Rob has sunk investment in Lara and it's hard to back out now; I believe that Lara doesn't understand the dynamics of interpersonal behaviors. All in all, it was enough for me to take my business and purchase elsewhere.
