Little Sparrow Cafe

Sometimes you just have to spit it out: Five stars 'cuz it's cheap!So for those who aren't too accustomed to the comings/goings of Albuquerque's Old Town, there was a froyo place, in this exact location, for about two years: Yay Yogurt (that's still the title of the free wifi, FYI). I loved Yay because they didn't charge by weight, like most shops, but instead charged via cup size, toppings were endless. Okay, I liked it, my daughter LOVED Yay. And like so many culinary lovers of ABQ, one day the place just up and closed. We lost Yay. Boo!I'm happy to report that we got our sweet treats back, with some sandwiches, coffee and frito pie, to boot. The owner of Blackbird Cafe (a wonderful cafe just a couple blocks away) brightened up the walls and put together a great little spot for a cuppa joe and a casual bite to eat, and get this: No, the froyo toppings aren't unlimited, they're... FIVE CENTS. The first topping is free, actually, but after that -- oh, please, don't fleece my wallet -- five cents each. One nickel. No no, don't worry, I've got the check.Look, toppings selection is limited, so are froyo flavors, but I'm not uppity about my cold treats. I'm so glad I can continue to spoil my daughter on the Plaza, and I appreciate the Little Sparrow theme, and the lovely plate that held my brain freeze.

This is a cute little cafe right in the center of old town. Had some delicious frozen yogurt. The menu had craft sandwiches, frito pies, cheese fries, and chili dogs. It was a nice cozy place where we could look out the window and enjoy the sites. We have a very friendly server who gave us great service.

Sandwhich was bland nothing amazing. Slow employees. I had to remind the woman behind the counter repeatedly what my order was as I waited. Ordered an iced chai latte with almond milk she started pouring whole milk in and ants crawling on the condiments.

Stopped in as we walked around town. My husband had the Little Sparrow and I had some orange tea. Loved the atmosphere. The workers were extremely polite. My husband was crazy about his drink and would definitely recommend it.

Not open closed for good It is a coffee house now. you should update your website. because people like me will come to eat here and there's no longer here.
