Lieber's Luggage

I called for some information on luggage repair. I explained my issue and was told initially they could do it, then was told they could not. I asked for a recommendation and they said there is a luggage repair business in town. I asked if it was Abq Luggage and Zipper Repair and was placed on a long hold. When the woman came back, she said it was the business I asked about and I told her I'd already been down there and they're closed for a month sabbatical. She didn't say anything so I said hello and then she asked if I was calling to buy luggage. Maybe I'd have a better experience if I went in person.

So, I don't typically review business outside of the food arena, however, after my stop into Lieber's yesterday I just have to. Not only was my customer experience waaaay above and beyond my expectations, his young Ladd knew his product knowledge and made all sorts of incredibly viable recommendations. I was absolutely floored to be honest, by how well he knew his wallets...unbelievable. I needed a more passport-friendly wallet to help consolidate my traveling credentials and trust me, they've got just about every option available. Do NOT waste your time at the other stores..:I.e.dillards, Macy's etc. just go to Lieber's - you won't regret it.

This is a GREAT PLACE to find a quality bag. That said, expect to pay a lot for a quality bag. They seem to carry the highest end bags and the tasteful and skilled staff is all too willing to help find the perfect accessory items. If you're in the market for luggage that lasts a lifetime (warrantied too) then this is the only stop you need to make in Albuquerque.

It's International Women's Day, let's celebrate a business owned by Frank Fine, but run by his wife, Leslee Richards. Together, they make a great team and they operate one of the more unique stores around the entire metro. In this day and age, luggage stores aren't really supposed to exist; you're expected to find your bags at big box stores, at discount outlets, or cheapies online. Lieber's is a real exception. They know their product. They understand that consumers sometimes need to compromise quality for cost. I don't travel all that often, so I need a sort-of-rough-and-tumble bag at a sort-of-upscale-ish-price, and I don't want anything showy. This place has my brand new bag.And like most especially exclusive specialty shops, Lieber's also hand-picks some really terrific travel nicknacks and household accessories. This is one of those shops where I'll shop last-minute for virtually anybody over the age of 15, you know the situation, the whole Oh no I totally forgot it's so-and-so's birthday, I need a great present... Lieber's! And I'll walk out the door with an all-in-one lemon juicer / nose hair clipper / martini glass and I'll be psyched. Solid customer service, median prices, woman-run. Sounds about right.

Lieber's is a long-time Albuquerque resource for all travel needs. Their customer service is top-notch. They take the time to share the pros and cons of the many brands they have on display. In addition to luggage, they also carry purses, wallets and miscellaneous interesting doodads.

I have been a long-term customer of this business. They used to have great customer service. I recently purchased a set of luggage and one of the pieces ripped after one use. I brought it in, assured that they would happily replace it. I was told that they would not replace it and furthermore, they acted like they could care less about my concerns. I can no longer recommend the store and will never shop there again. Many of their products can be found for less than half price at stores like Ross and TJ Maxx but I was a loyal customer because I like to support local businesses, however, this business no longer has anything to offer. I would not advise shopping here!

This was by far the best all around experience EVER IN RETAIL. It is a family owned business with knowledgable, friendly and experienced staff. Martin patiently answered all of my questions... and I had a lot of them in trying to decide on the best fit for me. EXCEPTIONAL experience. Highly recommend
