The only thing that upsets me about this place is not enough people are talking about it. The food was excellent, the service exceptional, and the prices are absolutely incredible! We had such a wonderful dining experience here. We were really transported out of ABQ and into a brasserie in Paris. I love this place. If you are not familiar with French cuisine then this is the perfect place to experience authentic French food. My goodness I can't stop smiling thinking about this meal. I need to make another visit back again. We order the pate appetizer, escargot, French onion soup, salmon dinner, and mussels. We devoured everything. Simply amazing (and I don't say that often).

Chef Jean Pierre Gozard knows crepes like Derek Jeter knows Baseball! Don't let the downtown location deter you. Gold street has great access to the Rail Runner and plenty of parking. I'll be back.

This is a nice boutique French restaurant. The items are generally pretty good for Albuquerque and the service is consistently good. I wouldn't put this on par with top French restaurants in major cities, but for Albuquerque it is decent.

I wish there were more stars to give to this place, because it certainly deserves it. I had one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. From start to finish, I would give it a 10. Ambience. The service, and the food were outstanding.I had the trout, and it was exceptional. My companions had the steak Frits and the mussels all equally excellent. Our table grew quiet as we ate; very good sign as we dove into it and didn't chat. It's a very small place and quite cozy, I felt like I was in a café in Paris. We had a leisurely dinner that lasted three hours, and never felt rushed. We ended with a dessert of crème brûlée and chocolate mousse.I can't say enough good things about this place, and we will be back again and again and again .

My husband and I came on a Wednesday at 6pm and we walked in to an adorable French bistro all to ourselves. It's a small space, which made the atmosphere feel cozy and romantic. Our server was very attentive and we never had to ask for water refills or for our plates to be bussed. He also recommended a type of white wine that I had never had before, and it was an excellent choice (I believe it was the Trimbach). We were served warm bread and butter to start. It tasted like it was fresh out of the oven! Then we had an endive salad and cheese/prosciutto platter as an appetizer. The salad presentation was really beautiful, and I felt like it was a perfect balance of sweet, savory, tart, and crunchy. Even my husband liked the salad, and he is not normally a fan of blue cheese. The cheese and prosciutto plate was like a charcuterie board, served with apples, walnuts, dates, grapes, and several types of cheese. It also came with crispy bread slices, better than crackers in my opinion. For our meals, my husband had the rack of lamb, and I had one of the specials, the Scallops. My meal alone was 5 stars. I love scallops, but I think I've been missing out on how a scallop should actually be cooked. These were like cutting through butter, they were so smooth and perfectly cooked. They were served with a tomato/caper type sauce, and it was just divine. My mouth is still watering thinking about it. They were served with rice, tomato, carrots, and asparagus, which were all perfectly cooked. My husband loved the lamb, and said he can't remember having a meal that good in a long time. For dessert, we got the profiterole, which is essentially a giant cream puff covered in chocolate sauce. So yummy! I had to remember we were on a nice restaurant to stop myself from licking the plate. This is a perfect restaurant for a romantic date. I would love to come again for lunch and try one of their sandwiches or other salads. We will definitely be back.

They aim to please at this reservation is always appreciated French restaurant in an upcoming part of town. But step through the door and prepare to be transported to France. Sure it's small. And busy. That's the charm. It's like Paris in the 70's. Really. I was pleased that they accommodated me.

We were in the mood for a steak night with a nice balanced ambiance but we wanted to try something different than what we can usually find back home. We came across this restaurant and I'm glad we did.The food and service were amazing and the staff were extremely patient and nice. Reservations are recommended because the size of the place is small. We got lucky with an open table.I ordered the steak frites and my partner ordered the rack of lamb. I received my steak frites and my fries were hot but my steak was cold. Waited about 5 more minutes for my partner's dish to come out and his portion of protein was disappointing but tasty. I sent my dish back to be reheated, but it came back tough. I kindly asked the staff if I could get something else and they were so kind and helpful. I ordered the rack of lamb and was so satisfied with the way it came out. Tender, juicy and delicious. If you're going I highly recommend this dish.

Although pricey, I have had some very god food at this cozy restaurant and recommend it with reservation. Recently I had scheduled my book club for our December lunch a 11:30. When arrived ten minutes early the two members from S Fe were standing out in the cold. The manager would no let them in because they were early. I have been going to Le Troquet for 20 years, often was the only patron there for lunch during COVID, and I have never known the owner, Jean Pierre, to be rude or inhospitable. Not so with the present manager. We ate our lunch, members ordering a mixed price range of modest, their very nice onion soup, to quite pricey, the seafood crepes, admittedly filled with tasty shrimp and scallops; amounting to a price mix, however, also throwing in the likes of lamb cutlets, not easily divisible by us nine. The bill came to me as one total. I asked the manager for separate checks, a request he declined quite emphatically on grounds that once in the register, the entry and its amount could not be changed. Of course, like most restaurants, he would have had to go around and calculate each order separately. It's done all the time, every day, in every city in the United States. One simply asks at the beginning, Will this be separate check? So far it's only laziness and bad management. The kicker however was the story about the register, as I have yet to see a modern register on which one cannot cancel a sale. Well after several counts and recounts, members throwing an additional Five or Ten here and there to make up the correct amount and tip, we finally got the math squared away. As I gave the amount to the manager I repeated that "separate checks?" should have been asked at the beginning, when the orders were taken. The response was not courteous accommodation but rude attitude. So, by all means, enjoy the mussels, the onion soup, the scallops (my favorite for 20 years), just make sure your out of town guests meeting you there do not arrive a bit early; they may be asked to stand outside in the cold despite the restaurant being empty. And should you run into "technical" difficulties with the register, remind the management--gently!--that sales entries can be cancelled. It happens even in the best of restaurants. Speaking of best, I recommend the creme brulee, as good as anywhere on two continents.
