The Good: Bocce ball! Small dog park. Tennis courts. Decent play structure, slanted for the youngish set. Swings. Unique tiered leveling allows kids to tell secrets about Santa Claus while mom/dad obliviously talk shop with the neighbors and throw the ball to Lassie. The Bad: No recreational expanse for games/soccer tournaments, whatever, it's a small place. The Verdict: Oh, man, the views around here. Every time I visit the foothills I get jealous, we were there as a storm front approached, talk about dramatic skies with a Sandia/Mordor backdrop. But the bocce ball court(?) was the real take-away. Lovingly maintained by locals with a rake to smooth things out, there's a bench dedicated to some guy who obviously loved this little spot, and underneath the bench -- yes! -- a set of bocce balls in a bag. All I could think, and say aloud, was that if this park was located in my 'hood, ain't no way that bocce ball bag would be there in the morning. This is public recreation in the Heights, y'all, these people respect the commons.

Amazing neighborhood park. Tennis courts, basketball courts, and a big field are fantastic. But the play structure is really good! In addition to the 'big kids' play structure they also have a smaller one for the toddler set! . So often y little and I get to a park and there's nothing for her to do because the playground is too big. This one is perfect for those little unsteady walkers and more experienced toddlers. Also they have 2 baby swings! Awesome for keeping the kids from fighting over who gets in next or to meet a friend for a play date! No dog park, but there are bags so PLEASE pick up your poop.

This park was named after my Great grandfather , my grandmother just lived right around the corner and this park was a frequent stop often with all the family and taking pics of the generations that had been born since his passing. Now I live in Texas andy grandmother passed in 2005 so that was the last time we saw the park . I hope the heights enjoy it as we did.Cherie BollesGreat granddaughter of Lawrence C. Bolles
