Great burger and home cut fries! Was a lil sad the bun on the burger wasn't toasted. When the bun is not toasted is quickly falls apart or gets soggy. Great service! I was sad to see a patron bring her puppy in the restaurant (I doubt it was a service animal and if was then it should have had a vest identifying it as such) I'm all for fur babies but not so much in a sit down establishment, especially with the puppy whimpering and being held by multiple patrons. Other than that cute restaurant with good food.

We stopped at the cafe on our road trip. It was pretty good. We mostly enjoyed the sassy waiter - she had my husband in stiches. She figured him out in a sec and kept on teasing him and it was charming. Perfect respite for our drive. Cell service was tough, but the food was worth it. Burgers are the BEST.

The motel room was clean and had just about everything standard for a hotel a peg above a chain like Hotel 6. It's in a little town and attached to a restaurant. The highlight was Phyllis behind the counter, who had a schtick that made me snort more than once. She freely acknowledged that she's 77 and "an old fart". When I asked her if there was a room available she said "Let me get my slippers on and go look."She was hard to understand at times because she has a soft voice and she was wearing a mask. However, she did tell me that her sister talked her into taking this job and that one day her sister will pay. After she came back from seeing if there was a room available, she shuffled around a lot of papers for about 5 minutes and finally I asked if there was a room available and she asked me "Do you want internet?" This surprised me, frankly, and I told her I did want internet. She then proceeded to move somebody else who had a reservation but hadn't yet arrived so that I can have the room with a good internet. Ends up this was moot because I never could get the Wi-Fi to work. I didn't want to bother Phyllis about it because of how many times she told me how tired she was. She had been filling in for the house cleaning staff, who she'd allowed to go on vacation. The internet connection without the Wi-Fi was very, very poor, which these days shouldn't be the case. Every hotel room should have very good internet access, regardless of where it is or how big the town is.She then told me that she needed to come into the room after I got in, to show me how to turn the satellite television on. She said it would probably take about a half an hour for her to set it up. I told her I didn't want the TV. She looked at me and said "You're now my best friend."All of this was deadpan on her part. She had no idea how funny she was.The exterior of the hotel was quiet. I could hear the television in the next room, but it wasn't intrusive. There was plenty of everything that a person could need in the bathroom. There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. There was a comfy chair, which is always appreciated by me.Phyllis told me that she's retiring in May. I think the owners should offer her such a great pay upgrade that she'll never leave. She was delightful.

This was an unplanned stop on my way from NM to AZ, but it was 30 something degrees outside and I was on my motorcycle. A stop for warmth was absolutely needed. What I got for my stop was this terrific breakfast - the Largo Cafe Breakfast. Eggs, thick bacon, hash browns and HUGE pancakes. Everything was well cooked and delicious. This is a worthwhile stop for anyone driving by.

While the hotel and cafe are no longer co-owned, they are both nice. You would expect a basic hunters hotel. This one is cleaner and much more comfortable than most. The cafe has good food for a reasonable price. The chicken fried steak was quite good. Breakfast is amazing

Thank goodness Yelp helped me find this hotel! I called the phone number and we got ahold of Phyllis after hours. The room was about $100. It was amazingly clean and appointed like a house. Lots of fluffy towels. Small refrigerator and coffee maker. Ac worked great. Dark out shades. The sheets were bleached white and bed was just right. You've got to stop here when driving through New Mexico. We were driving from Texas to California. I give this little motel 5+ stars!!! Btw the cafe isn't the same business.

Hotel is separate from the cafe. Hotel was...okay. Why is it that there are only 4 guests and they have to be crammed next to each other? Cafe was pretty good! I ordered a green Chile cheeseburger and it was great. Really nice waitress who may have been the owner. The cafe needs some repair but this is a really small town and I imagine a poor population. I highly recommend the cafe though. We'll probably be back through soon.

First off, remember you are in a tiny town. Quemado, NM is a population of 173, so set your expectations realistically with regards to amenities. Once you do that I can highly recommend the Largo Cafe & Hotel!!I had the Green Chile Cheese Burger and fries. They were EXCELLENT!!Phyllis ran the front desk at the hotel. She's a little old lady but she is a spitfire Room was pretty basic but it was clean and had tv/WiFi/fridge/microwave. And it was soooo quiet there

After a rather full 8th day of cycling on my much-delayed "Sixth Annual First Quarter Odyssey" (15-23APR2023), I was immensely relieved to see this great "same-layout as the Mountaineer" LARGO MOTEL. When I reserved earlier, I was told to go another block to the unique Country Store, or, if it's closed, go another block to the Rito Quemada gas/convenience store to buy food because their own Largo Restaurant is closed for reconstruction. With enough daylight, I entered the Country just before closing time. I was fortunate to be the last customer, and was allowed the opportunity to explore this interesting place as well purchase microwaveable food. Like the Mountaineer Motel, I was extremely pleased with the firm mattress/microwave/flat screen TV and, of course, the WiFI! It was another exquisite/satisfying overnight, and definitely has my coveted "iWheel of Approval!"
