The owners and staff are some of the nicest people anyone could hope to meet. They make their own jerky and it's well known in Northern NM as being the absolute best!

We were meandering south of Pilar to get some gas and beer and ran into this place--what a hidden gem! It doesn't look like much from the outside but they had amazing tamales and other goodies that looked delicious--including their own line of beef jerky. Very kind staff. Obviously popular with the locals. Worth getting off the beaten path!

Just finished my first ever white water rafting experience with far flung adventures. While traversing the New Mexican waters of the Rio Grande, my guide, Wild Bill, advised that I stop in at a little Food Mart/gas station on the way back to the resort I'm staying at. He said I HAD to try the green Chile chimichanga. So here I am. Sitting at this little cafeteria style table, inside this dingy little liquor store/gas station, waiting beside this little concession style counter for what is supposed to be the BEST chimichange ever.I considered giving a live-action style review. Bite by bite. But that thing required both hands (hehe). It was every bit as good as Wild Bill said it would be. A deep fried cocoon of gooey deliciousness! Beef, cheese, beans, and most importantly New Mexico Green Chiles! One was more than enough to fill me up, but if I had two I would've eaten both just because it was THAT good. If you are ANYWHERE near here, take the time to stop for the green Chile chimichanga at this sketchy little hole in the wall. You will not be disappointed!

Such a nice, kind woman working at this mini mart and gas station. She reminds me of one of my aunts and the store and restroom are very clean. Chatted kindly about the game.
